You just went off on the most stupid diatribe on why I don't want a v6 lol. No, simply put I just don't feel like a v6 belongs in a fullsize American truck, it's taboo to me.

Meh... Again... That logic just does not compute.

So, what did you think of the naturally aspirated (GASP!) straight six (GASP!) bulletproof workhorse of an engine that Ford (GASP!) used back in the day in Super Duty trucks (GASP!)?

*your head just exploded, didn't it... Be honest*

OK. Now I'm intrigued. Lol...

So. You're not against a VA turbo truck, generally speaking. Cool. I can dig it. However, you ARE against a VA turbo truck if it's made in good ol' 'Murica??? :ROFLJest:

Did I miss something? Have the damned **** managed to somehow infiltrate our economic system by way of Ecoboost vehicles? Did the Koreans hack into our most heavily guarded National secrets by utilizing a series of sophisticated software viruses who manifest themselves in the PCMs which orchestrate the workings of the Ecoboosts? Can it be that what we've previously enjoyed as turbo whistle is actually deviously conceived mind controlling hypnotic media brought about by the Rooskies???

Because quite frankly, outside of one or all of those exact scenarios, that logic simply doesn't compute. Of course, that's just me. Give me maximum horsepower, torque, and fuel economy, and I don't care if the engine is a 2 cylinder job that's powered by the tears of orphaned kittens.

5.0 with a Whipple will walk all over a new Raptor. Why not get one of those? No matter what way you look at it a TT V6 from Ford is a cop out. They have the ability to make insane HP from V8s and they aren't doing it to promote their lame ass EcoTurd lineup.

Duh! Lol! A boosted V8 better be able to walk a boosted V6. However, that would run in the neighborhood of $7500 without building the bottom end. The Ecoboost option on a regular F150 truck is, what, a $1000 upcharge or so? Throw another $500 at the Ecoboost for a tune, and you're looking at over 400 rwhp and over 500 rwtq.

If you're really, really, REALLY wanting to race these trucks then sure... A boosted 5.0 has more headroom. However, I wouldn't do it on stock internals/block. Such as it is and having owned the 5.0, 6.2, and Ecoboost, I'll take the Ecoboost all day every day.

Either way, ford phoned it in because they wanted to keep pushing the ecoboost kick they're on, they didn't choose the ecoboost because it was the best platform for the truck.

Honestly, it literally makes zero sense to me. Seriously. It's as foreign as Swahili.

Wait... You don't think the Africans are behind The Great Ecoboost Ploy, do you?

Again with the subjective terms? Lol!

In this case, "best" is highly subjective. Having owned all three of the major recent Ford engine platforms, the Ecoboost is far and away my favorite. It just does everything better.

That said, from my perspective, there's not a thing in the world wrong with either the 5.0 or 6.2.

I can easily comprehend logical stuff. However, it's the illogical stuff that stumps me. Sorry.

There isn't a thing subjective about my statement, they did not choose the platform that was best for the truck, a boosted v8 would have been best. And I've driven a factory fresh Eco, I hated it.

I can't wait to stomp my righty on said accelerator to bark some fat 'ole BFG's, with twin scrolls a whistling! Love me some V8's, 10's and 12s...still waiting to witness a true "W"16 with 4 turbos, but numbers make sense to me also. I have faith in all that is Ecoboost...

We just need Ford to cough 'em up already - DAMMIT!
