Pedal Commander! Awesomeness!

So I had the pedal commander for a couple of days, hop in the truck yesterday put it in reverse and get a parking sensor fault, hill descent fault, and other warnings, and the gas pedal totally unresponsive, will only idle forward or backward. Restarted a couple of times with same result. Unplugged the pedal commander and had same problem on first restart, but restarted again and everything back to normal. Anyone else have this problem? Think I'm going to leave this one off though I did enjoy the pedal responsiveness.

This is a problem with a short somewhere in your ride, two most common things were a pinched connector under the drivers seat or the throttle body

hey NJSP,

How touchy is the throttle with the P/C ?
Also, how would you compare normal mode w/ the P/C to sport mode without?

There's 4 different settings for it and all those settings are adjustable. In "Race" mode or Race +" mode, it's really touchy. Race mode on the PC and sport mode on the truck make it feel like a nascar, immediate response and torque...way too much for everyday driving, but for playing around, it's cool as hell.

Normal mode on the truck and sport mode on the PC make it feel like it's in sport mode, it still skips the gears yet it's more responsive.

I drive it in "City" mode +1, with normal mode on the truck most of the time and it feels great. SO much more responsive. I keep it in "City +1" when I switch to Sport mode as well and the truck just RIPS. No doubt it's pricey for what it does, but the change in throttle response is too good to pass up. I've said it before, it makes the truck feel tuned, without the tune, really wakes it up and makes it more fun to drive. That said, I've bought 3 of them...Raptor and 2 Jeeps, a JK and a JKU...they take the delay and the lazy pedal feel out of all 3 trucks. I'm not easy on the throttle, and I like to have fun when I'm driving...I love the response and the ability to change it on the fly just like the truck modes. Response changes with the touch of a button.

How do you figure? He removed the device and started in twice and its back to good. Seems like an issue with the PC or how it was connected and not short in his truck. No offense intended but let's not get people all worried about their trucks because you are in love with the PC!

If it was related to the install, it shouldn't have happened *at all* once removed

He still got the error and as he drives his truck, he'll get that error again

Lots of threads in the regular F150 forums about this issue, it's a short

I may have to bite the bullet on this.

You won't be disappointed. Plus, if Ford Performance comes out with a tune, it may only adjust the air/fuel/timing, and not the throttle response. That's how it was on my 2013 Boss 302 Ford tune. So if this can be stacked with a Ford tune, it'll be the best of both worlds, factory tune and better throttle response....and covered by a warranty...

Actually, why don't you teach us why the issue still happened after he removed the PC

I'll wait for your non answer

Thanks for the review... there goes another $300 and my truck isn't even built yet. Might need a part time job with this truck lol.

It happened a couple of days after install, and have not had the problem since uninstalling. Do Any other faults cause a completely dead/unresponsive gas pedal? The car would idle forward when in drive but nothing else.

It is true I had the problem the first time I restarted after disconnecting the pedal commander, then the next restart everything was back to normal, so maybe it took a few seconds for hardware to be recognized or something?

So i can't say it was definitively the pedal commander that caused the issue. Honestly I wish the problem would resurface so I could know it was unrelated, but until then I just don't trust reinstalling it.

I'll take a look at the pins and post some pics tomorrow if anything looks funny.
