OK,

RPG

Outlaw

YOU GUYS WANT TO DO THIS?

I WILL IF YOU WILL.

And just for the sake of the original post it will have to be a LT Raptor.

Unfortunately, what would be the point? There are different Raptor companies because as the company owner, we feel we have a better idea then the last guy. Plus, the customers would lose in that deal, because competition would be lost amongst the builders and prices on any products that came of this unholy conglomeration would be priced very high.

Wasn't this thread about some of the differences of the LT kits on the market for the Raptor? Pros, cons, differences, builders, etc?

Chris,

Pardon me if I come across as a negative nancy.. But why would you want SDHQ, RPG, Brenthal, Outlaw & ADD all involved in a group build? Normally when you get together a group of mfgs/vendors on a build it is done for a reason. For example, we have a few complete builds that we are doing for customers currently. These customers came to use because they knew when the took delivery of their vehicle from us it would meet or exceed their expectations. We are handling everything in house with the exception of a few things. We don't do paint, stereo or motor internals at our shop. So for these builds we work with motor, stereo and paint/body people that we know and can trust. We have looked to Livernois for motor work, Unique Car Audio (next door to me) for the stereo work and Pat who has been my trusted painter/body man for years to handle the body work. In the end they are still SDHQ builds because everything is done to my standards.

This would be different if you were looking for these vendors to supply the production/bolt on parts that each of us make but it sounds like you want each of the vendors to be a hands on part of the build. Like in my example above you normally look to another source when they have a solid skill set in the area that needs to be handled. What skills are you looking for the 5 shops to supply in this build? What does one bring to the table that the other doesn't? I'm sure all the shops listed would be able to handle their own building of a truck for you and some would be game to do a group build (I think your current truck was built at a couple shops, no?) but all together it makes no sense to me. If you want to try and explain it to me and help me understand, I am all ears. Now I am not attempting to compare the shops to these guys, but it's kinda like asking Camburg, Geiser, Racer and Jimco to build you a trophy truck... TOGETHER... IMO... What an abortion that would be.. Again, I'm all ears if you see things a different way than how I stated above.

I think Chris was trying to get the vendors to set aside their differences and use their knowledge collectively to come up with an insane truck.

Can't we all just get along? It seems so counterproductive for vendors to divide their customer base. The Raptor is a tiny market. If you don't think the stuff you say about other vendors on these forums doesn't go into the decision making process you are dead wrong. For the record it's not the guys that are on here every day like me you should worry about. It's the guys that aren't eve n members that browse these forums to gain information. With all the back and forth talk about who is better you all just look like children fighting over toys in a sandbox.

I'm pretty sure this thread is dead...

Why I wrote this above -

It would be like paul sr and paul jr building a motorcycle together!

-Greg

Actually. They are building a bike again. They're doing it at Paul SR's Barn.

I got a pic of a good wreck. Not a train wreck but... Wonder if any product anybody makes will make anyone survive this.

Simple, I am an end user. For the last two years I have spent countless dollars on building and changing my truck to be what it is today. I also have spent countless hours reading this forum and the opinions of so many vendors about their product vs another's.

So my idea is as a consumer, I would love to see all of these great minds come together to bring a well funded example of what can be done when the best minds in the business get together and build the ultimate example.

Each of you has the teams you use nearby your shop for the specialty issues, and I confident that you could collectively come up with the best of the best and build this truck.

It would also be fun to have you guys put the boxing gloves on and come to a collective conclusion of what would be the best.

I know the other side of the pancake. We live it here every day.

I guess it is the collective skill set that would be neat. Not any 1 particular skill.

Also Camburg, Geiser, Racer and Jimco all build on multiple platforms. We are only talking about 1 here. The Raptor......

It's a classic example of together we rise, divided we fall. Or keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Much like the FRF Giveaways, each vendor can gain more attention individually by coming together for a common purpose that appeals to many people rather than going their separate ways.
