I will be changing my own oil on the Raptor. Living in suburbia I need something that I don't have to spend an hour cleaning to store. I will be hauling the old oil to a city recycling facility.

Any recommendations?

I just have one of these Nothing fancy but it gets the job done.

You don't have to wipe out the whole thing, only the top of it. I do keep a baggie rubber banded around the cap because it will tend to drip a bit otherwise. Initially I was worried that the small hole in the middle might not be big enough and that the flow rate of the drain plug would exceed the drain into the reservoir, but that hasn't been a problem.

I have one of these as well. What I like with this one compared to the open top one above is that with the open top one, you have to be concerned with more splashing and possibly getting the oil all over everything, or worse, in your face.

Don't get the open top. Get the all in one. You changing oil already, you just got your truck?

I have about 600 miles on her so far. I normally change oil after the first 1000 miles. I've ordered Amsoil oil and filters. I've used Mobile 1 in the past. I only live 3 miles from work so I do less than 10K a year. Will likely only need annual oil changes with the Amsoil synthetic.

I think you will get major splashing with the the all in one container. I never get one drop of oil on the ground with my setup.

I actually had the opposite experience with them. Especially since I will normally drain my oil good before removing the oil filter, placing the pan below the filter to remove it, I have a bad habit of losing my grip on the filter. I have had them fall into the open pan full of oil...lol, talk about splashing, yeah, in a case like that, you WILL get lubricated...lol

Well it is like this---depending on how much you lift the truck and on the Raptor if you leave it stock it is not an issue because it won't happen much. With my oil burners and lifted trucks and big tires made my own from a 5 gallon container. That way you can leave a small er cut out towards the top to get your hand and arm in. With a higher top the splash is kept to a minimum which is good for the concrete around you lol.

The oil burners also had a lot more oil and it was BLACK. Just something to think about.
