I also hate mud flaps, but last year getting out then back in the truck during any snow fall my door handles would be packed full of snow.

As Birdman put it ... Mudflaps are highly recomended for sure !

Never liked looks of mudflaps myself till molded came along as Birdman suggested hear ... seems another generation has surfaced...Vortex. seems to have made an impression amongst enthusiasts. Apparently is number 1 Pic for SVT Raptor ... not your traditional flaps molded or otherwise .. most think are factory .. does match hood & side air extractors - even the vented runner boards. As much as I like molded, am really not a fan of them cause the molded lip - that wraps over the paint -traps salt, moister & acid rain. Theres just no way to keep dry and clean underneath - couldremove with every wash ? Best protection is is keep "dry & clean". Not only that they cover well spent factory paint !

BTW .. JDM engineering ( site vendor ) now carry... just another option... hope it helps

I'm still just not a big fan of mud flaps/guards. It was mentioned earlier about how ford should have made built in ones like on the EDGE. That would look good. Or if you could get some vortex in the exact same grey as the molding. I then would reconsider.

:waytogo: Thanks, Bird Man, these trucks need flaps bad! Here's my truck opening morning of the TN Youth Turkey Hunt (that's my son,the hunter, looking cool and my dad on the other side working a locator call).

Where I live mud is not a huge problem, but as you can see, I will drive a long way to shoot Birds (no offense) and other critters. Needing to wash the truck every time I hit any little bit of wet dirt is getting old fast. I'm ordering mine as soon as I get home. Thanks again!

PS. We didn't get a Tom, but we had a great time anyway!

Just picked up my Raptor about a week back and am also looking at adding flaps. I live in MN and winter slop gets to be a drag. I like the look of the Vortex that have been shortened. Anyone that has gone thru a winter with these, I would like to know if there is any sort of problem with road slop on these. Usually if a large amount builds up, I can just knock if off of flat flaps so so much doesn't end up in my garage. The Vortex's, have the open vents and would like to know if the buildup gets to be enough to pull the flaps off the truck, damage the flaps, etc. Thanks for any help.

I hate mudflaps but cringed at putting them on. I got all four for around forty five dollars. They do help out a lot and don't look bad at all i can always get a picture of them later on so far they have survived winter and spring here.
