I restore old cars and have won awards at the big events where million dollar cars are shown. I now only use real wax. I have tried all kinds and have never been impressed with the synthetic stuff that people rave about. I have read all the hot-rod magazines on how to achieve a great paint job and what wax to use and from what I have read they recommend real wax for your paint.

:mwah1: HAHAHA this poor guy obviously does not know who's chain he is pulling here! Just to show everyone that I am a benevolent soul I will refrain from replying in kind. If I were to respond it would be so brutal :Wedgie:
that after everyone quit blowing coffee or soft drinks over their collective keyboards they would actually feel sorry for this poor guy because he would be dissected piece by piece.

Just so you know keeping paint perfect is a hobby of mine has been for over 30 years and used to show motorcycles. I am aware of every product that exists that has any kind of credence. If you follow the forums of the professionals who detail and show cars for a living as well as use these products for yourself you will learn that there is no such thing as what you are recommending. These products make their money up front along with the people that apply them – business case being that a uneducated consumer will not follow up in the future or trade/sell the vehicle. Sorry but those are the facts and to cast foul aspersions on my person is quite alright because I understand that your knowledge base is less than extensive in this area.

My skin is tough so don’t think that someone who is not cognizant of the best methods for protection and appearance of clear coated, multiple pass, electronically charged paint applied in a proprietary controlled environment causes me any distress.

What products do you use? I have used Klasse for years. I was looking into Blackfire. Any thoughts?

I love this site! Welcome To the forum RH. When I was a kid, back in the late 80's- I had a job applying similar products to the exterior and interior of new cars. The product was a joke, the bosses rode our asses to bust the cars out. The product was often applied poorly due to the bosses time requirements, and the final mark up was around 80%!
I didn't last long on the job, I've always been way to OCD about cleaning cars!
I don't feel that there is any magic product for keeping a car shiny for years, but to each his own!

Hi there, New here and its my first post. Just thought I would put this out there for everyone. My wife owned a 2010 Buick and GMC offered something call SUPER POLYSTEEL loved it so much I just had it done to my new 2012 Raptor. This stuff makes your paint look like glass and feel like silk after every wash! NO JOKE, Price might be different in your area but really worth looking into for $500.00 for that kind of protection of your paint job and interior leather and carpet!!!! This stuff works and you will love it!!!!!! Please let me know if you have any questions, hope yall like this stuff as much as I do!!! AGAIN NEVER WAX AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! REALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome RH!!!!!!

My friend bought something like this on a new car and also inculded the interior for carpet stains. What you bought is a warranty from a dealer and they are banking on you not owning that car in 5 years and better yet nothing bad happening. Its worth it for my friend because he does nothing but drive the car and never would wax or even clean it. You may be like him.

I am no wax expert but that car will need something to protect the paint. Nothing lasts forever.

Got started looking at sealant products after reading Boss Hoss's thread.

I went to AutoGeek.net and spent about 2 weeks reviewing the products from professional detailers like Boss Hoss.

After all the research, I have decided to go with BlackFire Wet Diamond. It get's great reviews for durability and ease of use. Thought about Wolfgang 3.0 but you have to make sure you don't get near moisture for 12 hours while it cures and cross-hatches to a rock hard shell...that seems complicated.

Boss - know you like the Mequiar's #21, but lots of folks say that newer products out there are better...so I'm gonna give it a shot and will let you know how it goes.

Also thinking of topping it off with Collinite #915 - supposedly rock solid hammer Carnuba tough.

I want shine, but I want something to protect the paint when I get desert pinstripes.

Well, I'm a little mystified. We are talking about a vehicle that has been optimized for high speed off-road travel. Now I mostly do my off-road work in the Colorado Rockies (it's why I bought the thing), but I know the desert pretty well too, and I've yet to see anything remotely suggestive of a concourse out there. I like my truck to look good as much as the next guy, but it's not a Porsche or a Corvette. It's going to get dirty, scratched, pitted, and abraded if used the way it was designed and engineered to be used. I'm not trying to hack anybody off and respect anybody who takes good care of these fine machines, but there's a practical side to this that I can't overlook.
