I see you guys arent fans of what the OP was pitching, but just to throw my two cents in here, I went with Opti Guard and my truck looks SO much better now.

I've been looking at that stuff for a while now. Did you apply it yourself or have a professional detailer do it? It doesn't look very difficult to apply, but I would want to make sure any paint correction needed is done before it's applied.

I had a professional shop do it, because the wax has to be stripped, scratches need to be buffed out and it works best if it is put on at that point. If you have scratches and apply the opti guard, all you are doing is protecting scratches.

That said, now I can run through a typical touchless carwash at the gas station and my truck looks like it just got a full detail. No more water spots, no more "missed" dirty areas....whole truck just sheds any dust or mud. In fact, I stopped at Office Depot yesterday, and a bird shit on my A- pillar, by the time I drove home, just driving made that come right off, just left a tiny little trail about half an inch, came right off though without water.

Im happy with it. BUT, I cant speak to the issue that it eventually wears off. I do have a 7 year warranty that covers the product, and even if I have to spend 500.00 every seven years, it is cheaper by FAR for me.

How do you know if the product is not working anymore? I mean does it not bead water, sheet water, no longer smooth to the touch after a wash? Does the manufacture give any information on this or the bussiness who put it on for you?

Not saying its a bad thing to have on your car, my friend has it. But these are questions that pass my mind if I were to have someone put it on my car.

After doing some research--------not for me. Sounds like it has a lot of snake oil in it to me. If it really worked (for years) it would be the hottest item on the planet. Think about it.

Boss Hoss how could you miss it. My reasearch yields pearls of wisdom:

Yeah come to my house, give me 500.00. I'll wax your car with my duper super Flo rider (thats slang for Florida) special blend of stripper sweat. Harvested and Taken off ONLY the good looking ones. My special process (Patent Pending) converts natural stripper sweat into long chain paraffins making a wax whitch is very hard, has a high melting point, and is free of any aromatic impurities. They consist mainly of saturated, long straight chain hydrocarbons with only a small number of -CH3 branches, with a dab of 33 1/3 luken fill . Their high linearity and sharp carbon distribution produce a narrow melt range, making these sweaty waxes highly versatile for wax formulation that last 5 to 7 years. The oil content of these stripper synthetic waxes is very low and consists mainly of short chain iso-paraffins, thats why it last so long. Its so simple, read my Patent!!!!

So give me the 500.00 and I will wax you up and if it don't look good in a few years, me and the stripper will do it together for free. 150.00 charge to watch. After all its her sweat.

Its a goof, a joke. You know how a manufacture says anything to get a product sold. I would like to see some test run to see if it really holds up, besides someone saying"It Looks Great" and it most likley does. But does it do that for 5 years?
