Mirror reflector delete tutorial

Any advice on how to take the mirrors off?

Yes, you have to take the complete mirror assembly apart, the mirror itsel is the hardest part, once that's off, it's about a 5 minute job.

I have ordered these so now I will have to take my mirrors off. How did you go about this step by step?

I ordered the new black lenses from Tasca, but I see in some Ebay listings that you have to remove the mirror and back panel to install them.

Can someone confirm that is not true and that you only need to pop out the orange reflectors with a screwdriver?

The factory Ford reflector deletes can be installed using only a small screw driver. You simply place the small screw driver near the curved ouuter edge of the reflector furthest away from the truck and pry it out. The tabs on this part of the reflector are very small/shallow. Then you simply pop the delete plate in place sliding the tabs near the cab in first. The delete plates are side specific but easily identifiable...one side has two tabs who the other only has one...the same with the number of tab holes on each mirror.

It took me about 5 minutes to install both sides.
