Your situation is so strange.

My TCM tune doesn’t command any sort of odd behavior, yet the behavior you have is odd.

I’d imagine the stock tune ends up doing the same thing after some time which would definitely be an indication of a mechanical issue.

I'm still betting he has a problem or the beginnings of he doesn't realize yet. Only because it was explained to me the issue is more predictable and likely than phasers. Most just take it as being some version of "normal" in these clunky transmissions. After getting mine back from the "fix", I realized how far my sifting had actually degraded.

This is why I do lots of research before I go to a dealer. It's absolute last resort. I only bought my extended warranty for motor and trans issues, which I know these trucks have.
How Far from Casa Grande are you ? There is only 1 decent mechanic at the local Ford dealership , never had an issue with his work in 14 years . My 10 Raptor ,14 Tremor or current Gen 2.
