There's a POS Chevy pick-up I've seen running around Fairbanks that has the tail lights painted to match the truck. It is gray/silver and I've been behind it in traffic barely able to see the brake lights. I have no idea how that is even remotely legal.

(Sorry, just a side bar, not trying to hijack.)

I do like the idea of plasti dip so I could take it off later

I still have half a can laying around. I might just try doing my reflectors.

do you just get it at hardware store? I've never seen it and always forget to ask when I'm in town.

I know how you feel, the lowered truck scene here is ridiculous. A lot of truckers here do that, hell one of my friends did that to his chevy. to each their own oh and he swears he a beat an ecoboost:lol2:

I got mine at Home Depot just down the street. They had it with all the other spray paint. It was like $5.99 a can I think.

Got mine in today.Dealer at first said that they don't make them. I had to give them the part #s. List price was $13 & change. Dealer paid for it & cut me an additional key ($40) for free.
It was a easy change out thanks to Prybar's post & photos. I think it looks awesome on my tuxedo black truck. Thanks for the tip. Also got the bed sprayed Line-X today. The shop that sprayed it said they couldn't do the fender wells. Got 500 plus miles on it & I just got it last Friday night. Fun truck.

Did mine last week with the Recon amber LED kit. Tapped into the blinker that's already installed in the mirror. They are smoked lenses so they are black until you turn the blinker on, great mod, looks a lot better.

Can you give any more info on the Recon units? Their reputation is very suspect around here. Pictures or video would be great if possible.
Thanks.

I think these give you the best of both worlds, completely black when off and amber when on.
