I’m pretty much dead set on ordering a kit. I was just hoping to find someone who had them with some use/miles under them
For the time being that would just be me. I know
@Carlos M has had parts for a bit but don’t know if there made it on yet. Holidays can be busy after all. Obviously, I'm not third party of course, but for what it's worth...
Installation is easy. I think the one thing people aren't accustomed to doing is the shock eyelet. Once you get enough heat in there to break the loctite, it unthreads easily though. After installation took the truck to get aligned. Toe was only off on one side which makes me think toe was always off on that side. Camber and caster were within spec. So, the alignment really was just adjusting toe on one side.
I really like the added clearance of 37s plus bump stop spacers. Between clearance to the ground being better, especially at full compression, and approach angle being better I think it’s a noted improvement off road. I’d always drag the skid plate and underside of front bumper in one particular area I like to go and it does not drag anymore which is nice. The LCA mounting tabs hang quite low and having 2" more clearance (1" from tire and 1" from lift) is good piece of mind. 35 trucks practically scrap when you bottom them out. I got the 35 truck because I like the go fast off road stuff. Originally Ford was pushing the 35 trucks for that and the 37 trucks for more technical trails, which makes sense. So not losing travel is something I really wanted to achieve. If you look at it from a bottom out resistance perspective, the extra 1” of travel corresponds to the suspension being able to be on average about 7% softer or you could have the same stiffness and on average it would be 7% harder to bottom. I think that’s likely the real reason for 37 trucks to have a different shock tune.
As far as day to day life goes (I daily this truck), I don’t really notice much of an impact. Ride height is taller and the sidewall is more flexible. Those are noticeable when you really throw it into a corner. But it’s an off road truck so I don’t really care. My usual drive is pretty mellow. There's one stretch where I like to hit the limiter every now and then just to do it. Still does that just fine. Have taken maybe a 0.5 mpg hit at most. Averaging 16.2 on that commute. I know it’s not really the point of the truck, but part of day to day. Beyond that, no pops, clunks, thuds, squeaks, or anything. The front is very lightly preloaded and the rear isn't really preloaded at all despite what the spacer might look like (the preload from the spacer is cancelled out by the shock eyelet. I spend a lot of time in the mountains during the winter, so everything is specced to be as corrosion resistant or more corrosion resistant than stock. As such, the parts are still looking fresh right now.
