I LOVE my truck I dont want that to be confused. I understand that I replaced the cat back with an aftermarket setup.

What bugs me is that after multiple trips two and from the dealer with new o2 sensors, they tell me its my exhaust and that ford wont go any further with assisting them with repairs unless its stock, ok I get this.

They install MY factory catback without giving me an estimate, and when I arrive its $384.00 Holy Crap!!

In the past after a new o2 sensor and clearing whatever they clear, the truck stays MIL free for about 2 weeks, to 2 months.
This time it made it less than 2 HOURS. so now im out of pocket, with repairing a brand new truck and all they have done is throw o2 sensors at it.

I would have been perfectly OK with a scenario like this, and like I said as being a technician I know its feasible, I do it everyday to keep my job!

Lets say I get the truck in P013C bank 2/sens 2 slow response.
As a tech first thing I would do is see the aftermarket exhaust, Ok.
Then I would monitor the bank 2 sensors with IDS and see if they switch from rich (HIGH VOLTAGE) to lean (LOW VOLTAGE) when coming off the throttle. (UPSTREAM O2 SWITCH FAST, DOWNSTREAM SWITCH SLOW) If I see that it is doing this properly (WITCH THEY HAVE TOLD ME IT DOSE) I would immediately rule out the exhaust, and Catalytic converter.
I would then get out a wiring diagram and check all connectors, and pins for proper contact, and tightness. If this is ok, I would then check all continuity of signal wires from the o2 sensor connector, to the PCM connector. If all values are in spec I know there is no wire issue present AT THIS TIME.

Now here is were I would have my service writer call the customer with a quote I made, to install the factory exhaust, due to the fact that (1) we need to now get a ford rep involved to figure out were to go from here, and (2) we need to pressurize the exhaust and we need a factory unit installed for proper test results.
If the customer OKs the install of the factory exhaust I would install the exhaust, and call up Techline to help me out.

I would get the truck fixed in ONE VISIT, get it out of my hair and make EVERYONE happy.

Original post said it threw that code while he was traveling out of state. It might have simply been a bad tank of gas. My 2011 threw a Code P 2098, "Trim System Too Lean, Bank 2" last July. I topped off the tank with about 3/8 tank 93 octane from a high volume Shell station, and the code went away and has never come back.

Well, now the service tech can call the Ford Hotline and get help since it's all back to stock.
I'm sure no one was helping because of the exhaust mods.
Hopefully, it will get taking of this time around.

I know its frustrating my wifes 06 Mustang started throwing a code bank to lean every now and again. I was told throttle body and a bunch of other things were could be causing it. I like you own DVOM and started to test a few things. Finally looked at the air filter it was pretty oily and dirty so just bought a new one. Havent had the problem in a year now...

Its going back in tonight. Lets see if they can fix it this time

Hey LONGISLANDRAPTOR,

I reached out to you on another thread as well, but I wanted to make sure I covered all my bases and posted here, too. Send me your information (full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, mileage, and servicing dealer) in a PM so I can look into this. I'd like to see how I can assist with getting this resolved.

So you cant figure out the problem if it isn't a stock exhaust? or they just wouldn't warranty it that way? Id pay the diagnostics and new 02 sensors before I paid 348 flippin smackers to put that original exhaust back on

because I was asking you the question. Thanks for the answer.

My truck made it 87 miles before something broke. Congrats on beating me op.
