I would like to know the price difference between the Chinese wheel and the closest Made in the USA wheel. If that info was avail I think we not see a big difference. I try to save money too, so I understand why big business does what it does to save money. all I'm saying is its another guy out of work because his company can't compete. That's not good for our country no matter how you look at it!

I'd say you don't have a clue! Go back to sleep now, nothing here of any import to you!

I have a company and we do a lit of business in China because the cost of manufacturing items in the US is out of control. It's cheaper for me to have parts made here, shipped to China, assembled and shipped back. You would be surprised at how many companies do that. Shipping out of the US is almost free today because we have no exports. If I bought everything in the US and tried to compete I wouodnt last a year. I am not the 'super rich' 'mega wealthy' 'wall street scum' just simply a guy trying Romans my Raptor payment and come up with some extra cash to send to RPG. Minimum wage in CA is almost $9.00/hr. Why does the government tell me what I have to pay someone? If they think $4.00 hour is a good amount of money for a couple hours a day why should the government get involved? Why should some 16 year old kid be intitled to that amount of money? They don't have a car payment, mortgage, family to support....oh wait they do pay taxes. And the more they get paid the more taxes they have to pay....hmmm. Like I said...don't hte the player hate the game.

And as a side note I always offer a US made product for customers that are willing to spend more but no one chooses to spend more.

16 year olds aren't allowed to work in this country, don't you know!

Yeah, if it was made in the USA but California is part of Mexico or haven't been watching! Won't send my money there and I'm a born and raised Californian, but long gone!

I also have a business and import from China and Taiwan, Taiwan does a excellent job and has a much better work ethic and they care about quality. China Does not, I can have a item produced cheaper in China but they will not produce them correctly. Alot of China's problem is there availability to decent raw materials. I work with GM and Ford and I have had conversations with people at GM when they first launched their wheel program and they defect ratio was very high.
Unions killed our Metal industry in America with retirement deals long ago and I don't think it will make a come back.

Ever wonder why your upgraded Sony Sound system sounds like crap, Speaker made in China

China's culture is 5000 years old and do any of you think that they are going to reform anytime soon?

China has changed....they adopted much of the capitalism used by the Western Workd. This is primarily why China has not only survived but who's economy has skyrocketed over the last 20-30 years.

Now when you say manufacturing cost are out of control in the US, are you grouping the country as a whole or are you talking about the issues of doing business in the state of California?

I agree that there is an issue in manfacturing in the US but California is not without it's own challenges. I have manufactures parts as well as assembled parts but I'm dealing with lower tax rates and zero unions.

And domestically Ford has to compete with the too big to fail Gubmit Motors - which does not have to even make a profit to exist - thanks to the pols refusal to let it restructure with traditional bankruptcy negotiations

I own a small business as do many on here, I go out of my way to buy and sell American made products whenever possible. We operate a speciality high-end A/V shop that specializes in American and European made audio and video gear and our customers are willing to pay more for quality American made products. I personally buy NOTHING made in china (no caps deserved) that I can find made in the USA. If more of us start demanding American made products and demand the government ease the unfair regulations that are shackling American business we will slowly see manufacturing began to return to the states, if not then America as we knew it will cease to exist...
