I guess I’ll try and get my 2014 updated. I’ve not had any issues yet, so didn’t figure I’d mess with it. I emailed JDM about it to see if I would need a new tune afterwards. Here’s what I got from Jim:

“Our tune has it accounted for but you still need to have the update performed at a dealership or they will continue to contact you as it’s a NHTSA recall. You have to take it to the dealer and remove our tune, tell them not to drive the truck. Do the update then reinstall our tune file.”

Will weigh-in.
Have a '14 Roush sent out for upgrade and badging by dealer before delivery. Purchased from an **** retentive collector in '20 with 880 miles and have added another trouble-free 20k. Spoke with the local Ford Roush dealer's service dept after getting the recall notice 24S37 and as previously posted was told would wipe out the tune with potential trouble of restoring prior status and performance. I drive this as a Sunday go-to meetin' truck and as an open-carry, i.e., seriously capable of acute action but judiciously deployed with no off-road and limited s/c engagement apart from occasional pass and need for speed.
BLUF - Hard pass

At this point, I am thinking the same thing I have been driving mine for 3 years without any transmission issues, If it has a problem I would think it would have done it by now.

Kind of agreeing with you and " petlh "... BUT...from what I've found out,its not a problem that starts slowly so you can deal with it....it just GOES OUT and you go from 80mph to 0 which is not a good thing for you or the cars behind you.....
Thinking problem is more like the Fuse 27 issue...doesnt warn you, just goes out and leaves you stranded...might last life of truck..might not...and leaves you asking yourself "am I a gambling man" :)
With that said....been using mine for 6 years...had 40K when I got..has 75K now and has been perfect and best truck ever..my only complaint is how Shelby/Whipple are now dealing with the issue.

It actually is a slow problem. The problem is that the older Lead frame gets small metal particles that get on the contacts and causes them to short out. I have always kept up with the recommended tranny flush and mine crapped out at 190,000 miles. Big yellow wrench came up on the screen and it dropped down to 3rd gear and I limped it home. The new molded lead frame has a basically a filter on top of the contacts to prevent them from shorting out. Another type has a magnet that traps the debri

I have a 2013 with 137,000 miles
Owned for 10 years. Got the letter and was going to get it done before 120,000 miles and I called the dealer and he said “are you having any issues ?…” I said “no”
He said no need to bring it in

Shocked

I would be shocked to. Its just a matter of time. I would do it if I was you cause when it happens, it just goes. Looking back at it I do remember a couple warning signs like when I went merge on a highway and it seemed like it didn't want to shift. Mine was past warranty and the total cost was 1,100 dollars. Think its a 400 dollar part rest of cost was flushing the entire system and labor. As is Always the case, it Will brake down at the most inconvenient time. Think of it as Preventative maintenance like changing your alternator with high mileage

That was $1100 to drain a 6R80, drop the pan & valve body, swap in a "new" leadframe, button it all up, plug in their computer, & push the "Fix it so it Won't Explode" button? That's reasonable, since it's three gallons of tranny juice @$7/qt... and they warranty their work. Did they recommend a different cooler than oem?
