Someone here did the Ipad mount into the two rear cupholders idea said earlier. I think this is best because I have two kids, and I cant have two Ipads or movies going at same time. If you just use one, one kid is gonna throw a fit its in front of the other...no win scenario.

The ceiling mount TV is a good idea, but one word of advice from a guy who has had 4 different ones that use the "FM modulator" to broadcast the sound through the speakers.

FORGET ABOUT IT...it doesnt work. Unless you live in Montana, you are not going to be able to get clear audio out of those POS's. Find a way to run an audio jack to the line in input on your console for clear sound. We have a station I can run my wife's suv tvs on FM on SOME days, but not others...cloud cover and 18 wheelers running hot CBs interfere with those things really bad.

Looks like I'll be fabricating a flat surface using the cup holders as a mounting point and running either a small dvd player or a laptop with headphones. Don't know how long I can listen to the Muppets without needing a stiff drink.

I'll post pictures.

Not of the aftermath. that'll be used as evidence against me

My 2yo loves to read, and we do encourage it, and discourage TV. (well, she likes to turn pages and to be read to anyway)

Reading in a moving vehicle makes some people sick though.

I work a pretty cerebral job, and I get annoyed by people who always have to be entertained and play music incessantly. What's wrong with some quiet?

My god man I freaking LOVE QUIET. It's the rarest luxury out in Afghanistan for me. When I get it, I just **** and enjoy it because it's only going to last 10-15 seconds. Best I got was about 15 mins of pure quiet where I could hear myself breathe. Probably the best 15 mins of the entire rotation out there.

I like to listen to music a lot, but nothing can replace pure silence once in awhile.

Hell, 20 years ago you could smack your kids and yell "shut the **** up!" Now we have gadgets to keep them entertained.
If it were up to me i'd hang a belt from the rear view mirror and just point at it when they get loud. But NOOOOOOOOO.

the only way I get some quiet these days was to invest in some quality earplugs.
