Is it just me? or Does anyone think the Brakes suck..

Fade is not as much as the pads getting hot but brake fluid reaching boiling point.

If you have ceramic brakes then yes, but in general you're going to have mechanical fade from overheated pads well before you have fade from the fluid.

Not trying to argue with you but my experience is different. While I currently track with a ceramic brake equipped vehicle, most of what I have experienced in the past is with iron rotors (better for track use as they are cheaper to replace and do not have a stopping disadvantage); and fade, while in part can be from pads, was mainly from brake fluid. Different opinions, perfectly OK by me. Cheers.

I want to know what all of your are doing to your brakes to make them not work?!!! I've had nothing but stock brakes and pads and haven't had an issue. Change the fluid every 5,000 and call it a day. I've had really good brakes and really bad brakes. While they aren't the best they aren't the worst abc I know what I'm going to get every time I stab the pedal.

Agreed! Depends on the fluid and how smooth you are with corner entry, etc in terms of brake fade. I'm not sure a Raptor would need anything more than Dot 3 or 4 fluid. Unless you're doing this... one of my favorite Raptor Videos. The 6.2 sounds incredible!

I'm sure driving style is a factor but my brakes never felt that good when pushing hard or towing. They're better now. Btw, congrats on baby Stoner!!

As for brake pads:
Anyone ever consider Porterfield R4-S? This is a carbon Kevlar compound...which is about as good as you can get for heat and wear from my experience.
Considering EBC Greenstuff 7000 front / 6000 rear as well.
Leaning toward Porterfield...still can’t figure out what EBC is made of other than it’s organic (as if this is somehow important for brakes?)

If I feel as if I need more after the pad change...I’ll add stainless braided brake lines.

I’m waiting for the stock rotors to go before I replace those.

Am I crazy?

I have had zero issues with the brakes on my Raptor or any other F-150 that I've had in the past. On my 2013 F-150, I went over 90k miles before needing any kind of brake work and I don't expect the Raptor to be any different.

The brakes do take some getting used to and at first you may feel that they suck. But if you really need to stop and smash on the brakes, trust me, you will stop. They really arent bad once you get the feel for the amount of pedal travel.

95% of max braking is the tires. off road tires are not made to stop fast on pavement. you can put on the biggest BBK yet the tires will still be the weak link

btw Raptor had the worst braking distance of any vehicle tested by C and D in 2018 I believe it was.
