GEN 1 I expect Gen 1 Raptors to hold their value or maybe even tick up with the new Raptor

You can predict that, and it's your opinion, but only time will tell how the value of a truck like this shakes out. It's the first of its kind and will always hold a bit of history.

There is no doubt it will hold its value better than the average truck, but I have been saving for a couple of years to pay cash for a used one and went with a 17 due to the relative cost difference. My point is, like me, potential customers for a used Raptor now have the option for a new one... Supply and demand will catch up.

True, but you also have a whole lot of people that wouldn't touch an ecoboost raptor, that market will float the gen1

Agree, for me it wasn't a deal breaker but it is for some. I guess my point is how they held value is some what unprecedented with people selling used for equal or more than they paid new for 2 to 3 year old trucks. Also I am well aware the Gen 2 will likely not come near holding value so well but this won't affect me as I will have this truck for a long time.

If you have so few miles on ur gen 1 it appreciates, sell it please and get a Toyota. That truck deserves a better owner.

Yeah I have Zero faith in Ford, deposit down on Focus RS with 500 dollars, would never get built told Subaru that I wanted a white STI, ended up with a White STI 2 months ago.

Ford is LOL and ROFL at waiting for their specialty models. Then when they get one it sets on the showroom floor looking for a ADM sucker if they come if not it gets sold a model year later for MSRP or below.

Got to love Ford and their ROFL customer service and their ROFL dealer network. My STI was 43 grand and is my second STI, third Subaru. Subaru sent me a Dyson vacuum while Ford sent me a lump of coal and a sledgehammer for which to hit myself over the head with.

Ford gives Zero chits about their SVT customers. They would rather sell Explorers, F150s and mexican made Ford Focuses. While hiring as many non citizen illegal immigrates as they can. Great model Ford, do not be mad when more and more Americans don't buy your products new and wait for the used deals. Some other fool needs to lose the 20-30 grand not any of us.

thank you

rant over.....

What's with all of the acronyms? what the hell does Rofl mean?

ROFL - rolling on floor laughing......

LOL - laugh out loud

ADM - above dealer markup (I think)

It's all new-age speak. I had to ask my kids what some of them meant when I first saw them.:ROFLJest:

Yes it is roll on the floor laughing, thought most on here was familiar with internet slang.

An update, the Ford dealer called and I finally drove the fabled RS Focus and it is a 43 grand Focus for sure. The .02 seconds difference in 0-60 times and extra 40 horses made no difference to me. The car is small, smaller than the STI and has a RDU (rear drive unit) like the Evoque. For 43 grand the STI has aluminum control arms, front/ rear LSDs, BBS forged wheels, an actual key less push button starting system, Driver Controlled Center Differential and SI drive. The Focus has none of this and actually feels like a FWD car in standard operating mode. I did not even make it out of the parking lot before I turned it back and said you all will sell it just not to me.

I might check out the new Raptor but at 80 thousand miles, my 6.2 liter is still going strong.

Do NOT even get me started about this, at all. SVT is now Ford Performance-- Yeah laugh my f'en arse off. Ford is a globalist elitest POS company who feels like they are the be all end all of Performance. Well since I know the morons in Ford client care read these here forums. I am going on a rant. I had a deposit down on the new RS, until it became apparent that I was not going to get the car. I ended up with a white 16 STI instead and for the money it has front and rear LSDs, aluminum control arms, and a locking front and rear differential that actually locks 100 percent and not a RDU.

They can not even assemble the cars correctly in order to meet demands. While companies like Subaru Honda and BMW invest in America, companies like Ford continue to move over seas. I have no love for what Ford IS and ARE becoming. Maybe that was FORDs vision, but I will NEVER EVER buy one of their newer products and the all the creativity and insight of Ford left the company when they disbanded the GT40 team and dissolved SVT putting it into Ford Performance which in itself is a JOKE.

I love my STI and here is a pic Ford, sit an dSPIN.

Nice rant, but you realist the GT40 was a giant pile of shit to start with? Fantastic looking car, but I've never seen one drive further than 10miles without breaking.

Hell, Jeremy Clarkson has one of the first ones off the line and then sold it a year later, IIRC he put less than 100miles on it because it broke so many times. This was 5+ years ago so what are you on about with the GT40 team being disbanded? Those idiots couldn't make a car to save themselves.
