I don't recall any Ford Rep ever admitting to the Raptor R with a V8

Did you and @melvimbe ever decipher the license plate from the reveal? Wasn’t this the key to the whole thing about the R?
I can't remember what I had for breakfast, let alone what that license plate said. Other than that, I'm still waiting for a hard announcement from FORD on the specifics of an R and it's future.

The TRX will be out 1+ years or more if the R ever comes out. And when the R comes out, it will have competition from a whole host of electric alternatives that will have higher HP.

My personal opinion is they're f'n it up. They should at least be teasing us, but I think they're concerned what impact that will have on the Gen 3

Keep in mind you don’t just throw a 7OO +hp motor in a truck designed for 450 hp. SRT had been working on putting a hellcat motor in a 4x4 long before the TRX. Once they addressed the drivetrain hurdles with the Trackhawk the gloves came off.

Exactly. Sooner or later these stupid high power levels will dwarf the ice trucks. Yeah I know find a plug, carry a Genny lol. Not saying I’m rushing in. But Fords also building electric and there pro work truck has power to boot. Yeah I know take that into the desert or deep in the woods. But still, it’s the time now for high powered engines to show up in the market before they eventually get eclipsed anyway.

Yes. It is so badass. Can't wait to see it at Baja. ;)

I’m putting a 1000hp diesel in my 2018 to compete with the R! Seriously mines a lot of fun tuned and all the mods. The R intrigues me and will probably try and get one possibly but the coyote swap in my Gen 2 would be a lot of fun also! It will be be fun to see what you guys do to the Gen 3’s and then what Ford offers us in the R.

Yup. Do you know the official date for reveal of the Raptor R and its specs? The dates that Gen 3 sales start to slow.
