I’ve had Deaver springs since around 2016. When I first got them, they told me that the coating they came with may not hold up to winter weather, so I may opt to have them powder coated. So before installing, I disassembled each leaf and had a local shop coat them. Long story short, the powder didn’t hold up very well. It wasn’t long before it started flaking off. Now, most of it on the edges is completely gone and the leafs are rusting.

Does anyone know of a good coating I could put on these that would withstand winter weather, and not come off so easily? I don’t know if the guy that coated them didn’t get it done correctly or not, or if powder doesn’t hold up to metal that flexes.

the flex may and the constant sand blasting of driving. Powdercoat is usually pretty good but ive never put it on this kind of part. Mine rusted before we even hit winter lol.

I just coat them with waxoyl for protection. And then dona good wash in spring and reapply as needed. Which i do to basically everything underneath here ughh.

I may have to do that. I wonder if an undercarriage coating kinda like the ones factory applied would work? I always spray out the undercarriage after being driven on salty roads, but dang, these things rust badly and quickly.
