I don't recall any Ford Rep ever admitting to the Raptor R with a V8

Looks like my original plan of getting the R was wishful thinking, since I can’t compete with the Ford GT type of buyers.

This makes a TRX much more likely in the near future to me, I’m sad to admit it since I’ve always been a Ford truck guy, and I love my current Raptor, but the TRX just seems like the obvious choice for my needs as an all around practical daily driver.

lol other than the worst MPG of any production vehicle around & the propensity to get you speeding tickets, yeah I’m sure it’s a great DD haha

MPG isn’t that important to me, actually, it’s the last thing I care about when looking at cars/trucks.

I mean you specifically stated an “all around practical daily driver” in which case 99% of the population would include MPG as a main factor in determining what exactly that vehicle would be for their needs as a PRACTICAL DAILY DRIVER

Your words

I heard Mike Levine mention Raptor R to come next year after the reveal of the Gen 3. I am sure he said V8 as well.

The concern I would have is certainly limited availability and super high ADM’s. For example look how limited the 37 package may be. Once the chips are plentiful and pandemic woes are gone, maybe Ford will in increase number of them. Seems like they will sell all they can make.

Personally I am interested in the design of the Raptor R. I am not sure they are just going to throw a V8 in the Gen 3 and slap an R badge on it. I imagine there will be a design update for the whole truck so you can tell it is an R. I bet that new design will be as controversial as the blue interior with the 37s.

If it rips and has the numbers, there will not be as much hoopla about anything else.

Exactly. The powertrain will be the focus.

The Gen 3 received no power bump, so buyers want to know what will be so special about a truck with a 250hp deficit. HP is something all can appreciate, driving on or off road.

I have to believe they left the motor alone in the Gen 3 for a few reasons. One major one was the team got the go ahead for the R. And that could be the only direct power competition to the TRX.

Still think they should have taken the Gen 3 to 500HP. Marketing wise they would have sold even more even faster. I don’t think most people buy new vehicles truly based on how much power will it have if I tune. It’s more the after thought and many know they can.
