I am NOT telling anyone to NOT get projector lights. They are the better way to go if you can find a company that knows what the hell they are doing. I'm just showing that the 09+ reflectors were designed well enough to have HIDs without the usual issues.

My lights only look like this because they were aimed PROPERLY. They need to be adjusted to what the manual says. I can't stress that enough. If I tow anything I have to re adjust my lights because they will aim very high, but thats with any light.

whtrapta, which specific hid kit did you use? i am particularly interested in what the bulb looks like.

i saw it a while back where a guy installed some bulb shields on the bottom side of the bulbs and it really looked similar to your beam pattern.

the main problem with hid's in stock housings is that most kits don't have a shield of any sort on the bottom of the bulb, so the light goes everywhere. though i imagine that your careful aiming is a enormous part of the equation..

just like everything else-- spend a extra 10 minutes to do something, and it will do what it is supposed to..

It looks just like this. the stock light housings have a little cover that the bulbs sit behind. Its screwed on from the inside you can't remove it.

Dude, your clearly standing downhill from the vehicles and taking the pic from bellow the cutoff line of the projectors. We have all seen a car with projectors come over a hill and think their brights are on but as soon as the cut off passes below your eye level its a quarter as bright.

You can aim your headlights directly at the ground if you want, its not going to change a thing. Halogen reflectors are NOT designed to handle HID bulbs. If they were then why dont manufactures just replace halogen bulbs with HID's ? Why even have projectors ? Lets not forget that its illegal in every state. If you want to educate yourself on it then you can start here - http://www.theretrofitsource.com/trs_tech_oem_retrofit_vs_hid_kits.php or here - http://www.intellexual.net/hid.html#oemkit

Like I said, I ran them for a year because I didnt really care if I was blinding ppl and if thats your choice then thats fine, just own up to it dont try and sugar coat it and say projectors are worse. It may be your personal opinion but its simply not true.

Ducati, I don't think whtrapta is trying to prove that one is better than the other. He's just saying that the halogen reflectors are surprisingly decent. That's all. We know projectors kick ass but they're a PITA to do and are expensive.

Nevertheless, I don't want to blind anyone so I'll be sticking to full stock until someone has a cheaper alternative.
