Ducati :
As you know I had not posted those pics in your other thread out of Respect as I did not want to intrude on it.
Reptar:
Great questions and I had the same ones before I embarked on this project. Ducati and I went at things a little different . In short the only adjustment you have to be carful about before sealing the headlamps is the rotation as this style projector has a horizontal axis that in most cases cannot be adjusted once you reseal the head lamps. There are mounting options to maintain this rotation adjustment , but It would require far more work and in my opinion it is not a suitable mounting method for our trucks as it will not allow you to completely reseal the headlamp. All my good pics of this project are stuck on a cell phone at the moment and I can't get to them ( long story ). Anyhow here are a few shots , one is of me adjusting the Horizontal / rotational axis before I epoxyed the projector in place. Please note I did use the same jam nut as Ducati , but I had manufactured a spacer to help ensure the projector was centered in the stock H13 opening. I tightened the jam nut , set rotation and then epoxyed in place .

Sorry guys truck is filthy. I will try and get some better shots posted up , but wont intrude further on Ducati post , even though he encouraged me to post up. I will say that this project the first time has a learning curve and you must be patient. I was without my truck for two weeks as I had not sourced replacements. I took my time and made sure things were perfect . I did not keep track of the hours it took , but they were significant. I am fricken perfectionist and felt any error would be very apparent. What added to the time on mine besides the learning curve was the painting . My patience paid off and wish the pics would show this , but they do not.
This is why I posted that Ducati is dam near giving these away as he can't be makeing shit per hour for what it takes to do this . Big kudos again Ducati.

I am having one hell of a time getting these things apart. How hot do i need to get them for them to come apart.

I used my convection oven as I was not haveing as good of Luck as Ducati with the heat gun.

The first one kicked my but . The secound one was awsome. I used the convetion over at 230ish for up to 15 min and then would put it back in if it fgot to cool.
If I had to do this again I would run around that same temp and I would not be afraid to leave them in up to about 20 minutes . I think they would come right appart . I used a cookie sheet up side down and made sure the lamps were not touching any side walls in the oven. I am not sure if the convection postion made a big differance , but I beleaive it helped allot as ity keeps the air moveing and very consistant temps . You just have to keep an eye on them and make sure you do not destort them . If I can help with any outher questions you may have just let me know .
Sorry Ducati I know you and eye had a exchange on this and wanted to share this method as well . I am not itching to do anouther set. ( How much does set of stcok housing cost ? )

I too had bitch of a time with the first headlight I took apart. I used the regular oven method. The trick is to not let it cool down too much. Don't be afraid to put it back in the oven several times if needed. If the black half of the housing is not fairly soft and plyable, it needs to be heated back up.
