Yeah, anything you can computerize can be made really cheap. Adding a new software feature is almost free. That's behind the move to big touch screens. Never mind that the customer experience suffers. And to be fair, when you're selling hundreds of thousands of bare-bones work trucks, price matters. And when interest rates rise, customers become more price sensitive, so price matters. And when you waste billions of dollars on woke bullshít EVs, your profit margin suffers and lowering the cost while raising the price helps make that up. Ford has to balance all that with the loss of sales from guys like me who were planning an upgrade in 2025 and are now thinking they'll keep their old truck for a while longer. Or the folks who jump ship. That loss of revenue is invisible and the bean counters can't quantify it, so it mostly gets ignored. And the other ships aren't in much better shape, so where you gonna go? I don't see a solution. Wokeness has put Ford in mortal jeopardy and Trump ain't going to fund more of it. It will be interesting to see if they can recover.

Cosmetic options have an insane profit margin. Including them costs little. If that helps them justify a higher MSRP, it’s all win for Ford. Unless you care about those options, it’s a loss. Deleting useful features and including fluff is very much a loss for me. I’m going to flog it. Carbon fiber, cute stickers, and pretty wheels are a waste.
Comparing my 2023 801a vs my 2024 801a, my MSRP went down by $3k, and I still kept the carbon interior trim and the graphics. I gained the HUD, Pro Power On Board and better sounding stereo by saving that money. Only "loss' was the forged wheels on my '23 which the dealer swapped over to my '24 (but with the new tires) at no cost. So at least in my situation, I made out and got more truck for less money, MSRP-wise and monthly payment-wise.

I agree that whether it's a gain or loss depends on your priorities. If you were going to splurge on the options, having them included is a win for you. I miss the days when you could option a truck with complete flexibility, choosing only those options important to you. Seems like with computers taking over the world that that would be easier, not harder.

I mean what's the price difference of a Raptor logo vs a Ford logo on a key fob? .10 maybe .25 -- when they are doing sheet like this it really makes you wonder what they are cutting back on the engine parts and other important stuff.

Hey Ford worry about fixing your quality issues (staring w/ wrinkles in the seat material on 25's that your worthless QC at the factory can see plain as day and don't do anything) and you wouldn't have to worry about the .25 Raptor logo on a key or stamping Ford instead of Raptor on running boards. Morons.

IMO Ford Performance should at least demand a higher standard than regular Ford. Brands have the option to thrive by continuing to sell quality and charge accordingly: Pratt Miller, Klim, Miele, Blundstone, many high end watch makers, etc.
