Anybody had issues with oil starvation on tight turns? There's a really tight roundabout near my house that I like to drive with a little bit of speed. Its happened twice now but last night my engine sounded like it was full of marbles. Should I get it checked out or am I just exceeding the oil systems capabilities?

You should be able to drift your raptor without it starving for oil. Just saying’ . I would check the oil after it has been sitting overnight as @FordTechOne always says and go from there.

A single lap of a rotary should not be enough to cause oil starvation, realistically the Raptor cannot pull enough G force on pavement to make that happen. Is your oil level low?

Just checked the oil level, its just above the cross hatch and smells of gasolina a bit :hmmm2:
Does the oil on the stick look bubbly / frothy? If you're getting fuel in the oil you've got a problem. I'd schedule a dealer visit if you're still under warranty just to get it checked out.

Fuel in oil is common in DI engines, especially if you are running primarily short trips. The gen 1 ecoboost had a TSB about it, I am not sure about the gen 2. When you are getting the oil starvation is it a single lap on the round a bout or is it sustained G?

Since Gen 2 is DI/PFI, fuel in oil is a non-issue. Under conditions where there is potential for fuel to not properly atomize and subsequently contaminate the oil, the engine runs on PFI to prevent that.

OP - What year is your truck and when was your last oil change? Are you running a Motorcraft or equivalent quality filter?

During warmup the system runs on a stratified charge mode using a 30/70 PI/DI ratio. The timing is even at -20° (i.e. 20deg after top dead center) during cold start emissions reduction mode to assist in catalyst heating. This will definitely cause oil contamination issues while the engine warms up. The fuel smell in oil is normal and unavoidable, Blackstone labs can test fuel contamination levels if you're worried. This is why many people stick to 5k oil change intervals. Also, I've never had oil starvation issues, but my truck does make a little grumbly sound on hard cornering, but I think it's one thing to do with the 4x4 system, maybe IWE or small vacuum leak. It's not really loud enough to take it in for warranty and I have a couple years left, so waiting to see it it gets worse. Keep us updated if you take it in.

Can somebody explain in normal english, why fuel is getting into the oil and why it's allowed in these engines, I want to learn about this stuff as I'm sure the OP does as well.
