I'd like an 07-14 GT500 convertible (11-12 would be the sweet spot) for a toy/2nd car...if prices would come down. Haven't seen that happening yet, people still want too much. I plan to drive the crap out of it.

I’m working on upgrading from an 18 to a 20 model right now and have 3 dealers within 200 miles of me offering 4-5k off sticker and allowing me 52k trade on my Raptor.
So basically I’m moving into a 2 year newer truck with no money down and with the lowered interest as a bonus my payments are around 100 bucks less per month.
Looks like a nice deal, but assume you are extending your payments out for another 2 yrs too.

Same 60 month term, but that’s really immaterial because I trade out of my specialty vehicles every 2-3 years anyway.

ok. so it "cost" you two years of payments then right.

it's not immaterial, you made it sound like you were trading in a vehicle for no loss.

In reality it probably cost you 12k if not more.

Just made an offer of $65k OTD on a 2020 at MSRP of $72,290. Was declined. So dealerships right now are not hurting too bad yet.

I've tried to do the same on 2019's 7k off sticker and they still wont do it. They told me 2020 and 2019 are same price lol

Actually I didn’t infer anything like that.

Whether I kept the truck a year, a month, or all 5 years...it “cost” me something, whether in depreciation or payments.

I look at payments on my vehicles as rent...they all depreciate quickly and they will never be an appreciable investment no matter what. I’m paying for the use of the truck and that’s really all it is.

I’ve been able to enjoy the truck for 2-1/2 years, and get into a new model with no money out of pocket and a cheaper payment to boot. I’ll do it again hopefully in another 2 years or so.
