I have a 5.4 2010 Raptor (Supercab), and drove to the dunes at Silver Lake last weekend. YOU NEED TO GO THERE IF YOU OWN A RAPTOR!

From Milwaukee to Silver Lake I averaged 17.4 MPG (cruising between 65 and 70 to stay with my father who was pulling the camper).

On the dunes, the truck had plenty of power, although the shifting was not always ideal.

I test drove the 2010 6.2L and was underwhelmed. Around town the transmission upshifts ASAP (probably to preserve some fuel economy), and really never hits the powerband unless you were at WOT.

In fact, unless I pinned the throttle, I could not feel a difference between the two engines in terms of power.

Coming back from the dunes I got 16.4 MPG at between 75 and 80 (according to the on board readout). I am extremely pleased with the 5.4L.
