I’m not 100% sure I’m thinking the same thing you are but I think so...sometimes when offroad driving, you need instant torque to carry the front suspension over a surprise wash or obstacle and the 3.5L doesn't have it... and hopefully you can at least get off the brakes ... it happens, but V8 grunt is what is needed in those situations..because you are not going to drive a gen2 or any ecoboost truck 2 footed like often needs to be done in off road terrain
Using the predecessor 6.2, the V8 only had more torque up to... 2100 rpm or something like that? The graph is ALL over the Jen Too sub forums from 2016 through 2017.
Once the snails are moving air, there’s no perceptible lag; There is from at take off at idle, or just over idle but it isn’t much.
Where are you not able to torque over an unexpected obstacle to unload the front, are you in overdrive? The eco does need to be spun faster, for sure.
The turbos do behave differently compare to the N/A experience - it’s like this “non linear” feeling in how the power is delivered(?)
