Maybe……raptor will become a much more limited vehicle (like the bronco raptor) and not so much an outrageous vehicle like raptor R. And will get a tweener engine. Or perhaps the 3.5 marches on unchanged.

Pretty sure they’re sticking with the 3.5 with eventual electrification of it.

They are finally getting the bugs worked out of the 3.5L EB engine. It's had cam timing/phasers/chain issues since the beginning.

I doubt they'll kill it off for quite a while now that the front cover doesn't need to come off every 75K miles anymore.

You just can’t control yourself from trolling can you Sasquatch.

There were never timing chain issues. You made that up, per usual. The phaser issue was resolved in production 4 years ago. Your perpetual trolling just discredits you more with every post, not that you had any credibility to start with in the first place.

I find no fault in his statement since the engine has been around for quite awhile and how many revised phasers did they make before they figured it out? It definitely wasn't quick after it came out in 2011 or whatever.

Worlds biggest ecoboost fan...

You’re just a clueless as he is; what you “find fault in” in is irrelevant. The Gen 2 EcoBoost came out in 2017. It shares no parts with the first generation. The fact that you don’t even know that speaks volumes about your comments on here. Or maybe just adds context.

lol, all of them dont need updated cam phasers? im irrelevant.. sorry for interjecting.

im starting to think you are in ecoboost marketing. You gonna lose your corporate comfy cubicle and gen2 daily if the V6 fails and they decide to go V8 on all the raptors?

clueless clearly i am...

i never followed V6 f150 engines until they decided to put it in the halo performance off road model, where it really doesn't belong with my limited off road driving experience and caveman mentality. its ok in the dunes, if you can plan ahead..

since you do not know, sometimes when offroad driving, you need instant torque to carry the front suspension over a surprise wash or obstacle and the 3.5L doesn't have it... and hopefully you can at least get off the brakes ... it happens, but V8 grunt is what is needed in those situations..because you are not going to drive a gen2 or any ecoboost truck 2 footed like often needs to be done in off road terrain..
