Here is the copy of the R.O. https://prnt.sc/t0rlj9 https://prnt.sc/t0rm9m I took some screen shots the PDF was too large to upload

I see where they tried to bill both you and warranty for the oil; you caught the double charge and didn’t end up paying for the oil correct?

As far as the skid plate, there are a lot of helpers or “service support staff” that are not trained or certified so they do a lot of the maintenance work. I’d bet it was once of them that cross threaded the skid plate bolts.

Let us know how the meeting with the GM goes. You have a strong case against them with plenty of evidence of their poor workmanship and billing errors.

Ford Tech One,
I have a serious question... I took my 19 in for the cam phaser recall, and here is the issue
1) I asked them to rotate the tires -- They did not, and the tech when asked lied and said he did
2) I asked them to change the oil while in the shop, they tried to bill me for the oil change and filter and bill ford at the same time, they backed out the bill to me
3) The did not change the filter, I drove the truck home from the dealership and found mud on my filter, The 10 mile drive home was in dry conditions and all paved.
4) I found 2 missing bolts from my skid plates
5) When I took it back to the shop to call them on the carpet today, the found the other skid plate bolts cross threaded...

Here is my question, I cannot really tell if they went into my engine or not, and the noise is gone. I have ZERO hope that this lying idiot who cross threaded skid plate bolts actually did the repair right. So is there a way to go into this engine for the CAM noise and just over tighten something down to get it to become quiet only to blow up later?

similar thing happened to me at a Larry h Miller Dealership in Lakewood Colorado. Even got the GM involved and they all
Basically told me to eat their *****

My local dealership sucks too. I like Mike Naughton Ford in Aurora Colorado. Bought numerous trucks from there and received outstanding service.

Oh yeah! I caught the double on the oil change, I let the $10.00 for the labor on the air filter slide,

So the service manager called back, the A tech that did the Cam Phaser replaced the skid plate, so he is the one who cross threaded it, then they were going to pass it to their green lane kid for the tire rotation and oil filter. So they would have done the oil change twice... Now that still does not absolve them from lying to me when I questioned them on if they did the rotation.. So I have two options
1) They offered to do the cam phaser job again, I am not sure I am a fan of this. That would cost them about $416 in labor the service manager said he pays his guy $32.00 per hour. Then it would cost them about $1,625 in lost opportunity. So Their all in loss is about 2K, in lost opportunity and actual cash outlay.
2) I think I am going to see if they will purchase me the Ford Extended Warranty to cover all engine internals up to 100k... This would be a better solution for both of us,

The plot seems to thicken...why would they offer to do the repair again? Are they admitting it wasn't repaired properly? If an inexperienced/non-certified technician does this repair, you'll almost always end up with the engine out of time (Check Engine/Wrench light, poor performance, etc) or an oil leak. If the truck is running well and there are no signs of any leaks, chances are the repair is fine.

As @Donmatteo suggested, take the extended warranty. That's a value of a couple thousands dollars, and I can guarantee if they did a poor job, any concerns that occur will be well before 100K miles.
