Hi Guys, new to the site and this will be my first Raptor!

I have been hitting a few dealers about ordering a Raptor when they come out.

Most of them are talking big mark ups from 5k to 10k and you would have to be crazy to pay that much!

But the way i'm in fleet vehicle maintenance and i ask a Ford dealer that does warranty work for us and he said you would be able to order one.

anyone know anything about this?

This first year when they launch is going to be a bit crazy. My local dealer always priced his Gen1s 8-10k over MSRP. He is already talking MSRP + 20k for GEN 2.

Guess I won't be buying local once again.

I think I will have to set this first year out and wait a bit.

You might find our gen1 list handy. A few dealers always sell their vehicles near invoice which would save you another 4-5k off msrp

I sure hope some do. That how I bought my 2014 and it was worth the drive to go get it. If so, I will not wait as long to pull the trigger.

At the time I bought mine, I thought I'd have to buy mine from Louisburg Ford but when I waived that in front of my dealer, they said they'd match. You just never know. I would have driven a long way to save 4-5K which may be more like 5-6K now.

Since 2011, I bought two brand new first gen Raptors. I paid $500 over invoice for each. I'd advise you to find a dealer who will order one for you. It took me 8-12 weeks each time, but it's a lot easier to get a good deal that way. Also, you get a truck equipped exactly as you want.

My dealer already told me he is willing to order me a 2017 Raptor for the same $500 over invoice. I plan on ordering one the day the order banks open.

Good for you, if i can find another dealer that will do that I will put my name on the list immediately.

The Gen1 had 5k-10k markups as well when production was coming to an end so it's no surprise the Gen2 will have one as well.

But right now that is dealer speculation. Rumors also point to the Gen2 Raptor being just another option package and that Ford will have far more available than the Gen1 which means the markup may not be as bad.

That's some false info right there. The new truck won't be "just another option package" it will be a completely separate, on its own truck like the previous model. You won't go to the Lariat or Platinum models on the "build your own" webpage and just be able to add the "Raptor Package" like you would the 401A option pack or a chrome appearance package. You will select from either SuperCab or SuperCrew Raptor chassis options and build up your Raptor like how it was before.

They will most likely group it with the F150 line up because it's still an F150, but you won't see it devalued down to just an "option package". Especially with it's own specific frame, motor, and trans.

Production is said to beat the 2014 numbers, which were the highest numbers produced out of any model year. How many specifically, no one knows.
