There are plenty of threads about invoice pricing and which dealers do invoice. Do your homework and search.

There are 3 charges that most buyers don't take into account:

1 - destination and delivery from Detroit to your dealership ... for a 2015, it runs $1195

2 - full tank of gas .. yes the full tank is not free. Ford makes you pay. And this fee depends on current gas prices. In 2013 on my super-crew, I paid $128

3 - ADV or advertising fee. Yes Ford makes you pay of their advertising fee. In 2013, I paid $780. Can this be negotiated? The simple answer is NO. Mother Ford charges your dealership and your dealership charges you. And if you are able to negotiate this down, then it means your dealership just turns around and takes it out on your trade.

I felt the need to clarify that those fees ARE part of the invoice price. There's three prices in play...dealer cost, invoice price, and MSRP. You will typically never negotiate against dealer cost because that's where the dealer would lose money. You're usually negotiating between invoice and MSRP. If the dealer says they'll charge you invoice PLUS destination, fuel, and ADV then they're being dishonest as those prices are already reflected in the invoice price if you ever actually get to look at a vehicle order printout showing line item costs. I got charged maybe $300 over invoice and it damn sure wasn't $300 plus destination, fuel, and ADV. Also, the ADV fee is kind of BS. The dealer already makes a profit at invoice and why else would so many dealerships not list ADV or only use it as a negotiating tactic to make it look like they did you a favor by lowering or eliminating it.

I had no trade-in, so there's absolutely NO possibility that my dealer simply pulled the wool over my eyes and diminished my trade-in to make it seem like they magically lowered the price on my Raptor. Invoice is invoice. Anything else is just salesman BS.

For further info about BS fees etc., research what dealer holdback is.

I got my 12 used at 3mo old, so didn't see this last time around. But was offered 500over inv new then, so been curious if these added costs were incl, versus after the fact.

Found this, Non-rap, but for example :

invoice%20blacked%20out_zpswrdles6x.jpg

41335 msrp
38120 invoice (8.4% off)

If sale was at invoice, you would pay

38120
+2700 (estim tax)
+350 (Estim title license)

This about right? Maybe add doc fee too, I forget if that is more for used purchases or new as well.

Invoice includes the cost of the vehicle PLUS delivery, gas and advertising. If you paid $300 over then you paid those 4 things plus your $300. I too got mine around that cost except dealer said $50 over invoice plus $250 for an administrative fee. I paid cost of the vehicle, delivery, gas, adv = invoice + $50 + $250. I save nearly $5k under MSRP.

I think we're on the same page. Basically, those fees are already added into the invoice. The thing to be aware of is that a lot of salesmen will try to tell you that you need to pay those fees on top of the invoice price. This would effectively amount to you paying the fee twice if they're showing the full invoice price. I may have mischaracterized the ADV, but bottom line is that any fee paid in addition to the true invoice price is just bonus profit for the dealership.

Hey guys I want to know the best way to approach the question about how much over invoice they, the dealer, are willing to sell a Gen 2 raptor

Or just simply State" hey I'm looking for the price at or over invoice you would be willing to sell the 2017 Raptor"

I would tell them im looking to buy it at invoice, if they say no then tell them by and your going to another dealer until you get it for invoice. the more people that stick to there price the better.

Few questions about ordering a new truck.

How far are you guys willing to travel to get one at invoice? Personally i'm willing to go within a days drive so about 600-700 miles if needed.

Do you all find big city dealerships are willing to sell at invoice more often then small town dealers, the opposite or that doesn't really play a role in it?

I'm going to call my local dealers soon to see what they're plans are and go from there I guess. I'm expecting most of them to have a mark up above MSRP.

Should I expect to put any money down before I actually order one though? I read one Chevy dealer wanted $1k deposits just to hold your spot in his order line when the new Corvette came out a few years ago.

Based on all the good research here, a viable route is to use one of the recommended dealers here and pay for shipping to your local ford dealer. Seems the most efficient and cost savings route when you consider your time and money?

Time is money but road trips are great too! With that said i'll absolutely be contacting dealers from that list.
