Just an educated guess from experience in other industries. It might be that Louisburg had their fingers slapped from Ford corporate due to complaints from other dealers as to the near invoice pricing.

And yes...I realize that "price fixing" is not legal, however there are ways for an entity like Ford to put the squeeze on.

The dealer base as a whole wants to make as much profit as they can. Might mean full retail now and then something less than retail in six months to push more volume.

Is what it is right now. I going to wait it out. Sure wish the near invoice was happening now though :(

So much speculation, misunderstanding of the words "allocation" "allotment" and "ordering" going around, and belief into what a stealership is spewing out.

I doubt it, or they would have done the same to the dealers selling the gen 1 or many other various specialty models.

Ford just released a pretty dreary sales forecast for next year, saying the US market has peaked. GM on the other hand, said the opposite. I know Ford wants the Raptor to command a premium to strengthen the perceived value, but at the same time, I can't see them constraining supply of a popular model when they're forecasting a sales decline.

If Ford really did limit supply, some Raptor buyers would of course pay more. And a few would take another model instead. But most would just sit out and wait. Or maybe start to look at power wagons, ram runners, etc. Either way, those are Fords that don't get sold this year.

So I'm thinking this is a hollow threat. Plus this is all from a single dealer so far.

My order was placed on the 20th at invoice. I know, some of you say its not a real order. Anyway I spoke to the dealer today and everything is still a go with the deal. So much ******** around this truck. Anyone else that landed an invoice price hear from there dealer?

As far as I know it's only been Louisburg. There aren't many doing invoice so time will tell, but I'm definitely not going to rely on Louisburg only.

I wonder if the gen 1 will hold its value? Maybe someone should start a thread about it.

That's a double edged sword for me. The harder the 17s are to get the better my 14 looks to buyers, but then again, no 17s available at decent prices...
