Yea, better to have the entire frame rust in half instead of having mild surface rust on a cast iron chassis component.

I seen 7 frames all stacked on top of each other at the last Toyota dealer I drove by, lol. What a joke, why even have a crossbrace with that many f'n holes in it. Junk!!

The issue was actually with Dana Corp and not Toyota itself. Dana is paying for all of the rusted frames from the Tacoma, Tundra, and Sequoias that were recalled.

Yota outsourced the frames and undercoating to Dana.

Does that stuff turn amber in color once it dries ? I been looking to do that also. I have a little bit of rust also, but I want to nip it in the bud before it gets out of control. Did you spray your shocks and springs and plastics also ??

No, it dries and stays clear, similar to a clear coat on paint. Looks great, shinny.

Toyota made Dana the scapegoat, but their claim that Dana was solely responsible is BS. The 4Runner frames rust just as badly, yet 4Runners are built in Japan with a completely different frame supplier. Then there is the 1995-2000 Tacoma rust campaign that affected about 800,000 trucks, the 05-11 Tacoma leaf spring recall where the springs rust out, sever the brake lines, and puncture the fuel tank, as well as the 01-04 spare tire carrier recall in which the entire assembly rots out and the spare tire falls out of the bottom of the truck. 00-03 Tundras were recalled for the rear cross member rotting completely out. 06-11 RAV4/HS250h were recalled for the rear tie rods rotting out. Their solution? Rather than making an improved part, they have dealers completely coat the tie rods in epoxy, which eliminates the ability to perform a wheel alignment on the vehicle. The common denominator here is the manufacturer, and Toyota is a manufacturer that has a long history of severe rust issues while consistently denying accountability.

More folded and stamped frame parts than anything. Less heavy hydro formed and boxed. Wonder why they rusted through so fast. Thin gauge.

Yes, I used this with a pressure washer. But honestly, I started the process the day after I picked up my truck. I was at the dealership when the truck arrived and drive it home, so it was very clean with very little rust.
