God, not another MSRP thread. Its real simple. Guys who can afford it will spend it, guys who cannot or don't want to will bitch and moan about why the world is unfair and manufacturers are greedy. Some people buy $10k handbags. Not your thing? Step aside. Its called capitalism.

2600 raptors a month is still really small numbers considering the base of over a million F150s sold each year.

Where's the downvote button?

Free markets are most efficient when consumers are informed and act rationally. Dealers play on emotion and misinformation to generate urgency; threads like this even the playing field by sharing information, allowing consumers to make better decisions. Criticizing such discussion is both irrational and counter to your role as a consumer in a capitalist economy.

Also, if history is any indication 2600/month will be be plenty.

No, threads like this doesn't even the playing field. When people stop buying due to ADM then prices will drop. Talking about it, won't drop the price.

I suppose it depends on what value you associate with money. If you're swimming in it, then a $5k-$10k markup may not be important to you. That said, I own a law firm in South Florida and still would not pay that out just to drive it sooner.

I'm sorry, I just had to!

Yes they do, because knowledge is power. And, it's about time that we start outing the most offensive dealers. If dealers want to stay off the naughty list, then they better not lie to consumers.

Here is an email that I received from one, telling me there are no 2018's going to be made. Thus, I better jump on his last remaining truck and even wrap it if I do not like the color:

Hey Scott,
as of right now I only have the white one left, we sold the black one Saturday. these things have been on our lot for no longer than 3 days because of how popular they are and limited production. there will not be a 2018 model raptor, due to the fact the F150 is getting a facelift again and when ford does a body refresh they wont come out with the limited production vehicles until the following year so they can see how people react to new stylings. And the other problem is that I can get you any color you want in a raptor, but dealers are selling them to other dealers for msrp, so I would be purchasing the truck at MSRP to turn around and sell which would in return raise the price for you over MSRP. The white one I have in stock is our truck so I can offer this one up for MSRP which isn't a bad deal since these things are technically going up in value recently with their popularity. we can always do a colored wrap on the truck in any color you want which alor of people do to these trucks anyways to go with the tough rugged façade these trucks have. so I guess let me know if you would want me to look into cost of a wrap for the truck and hopefully*work something out for you.*

You should really sue them for lying to you. There is your evidence in e-mail.

And you should create a few more of these threads. No one knows dealers are trying to screw their customers, and we all know car sales people are stand up people, unlike lawyers. :)

Well, clearly I'm not alone because there are plenty of other threads discussing similar complaints. In fact, I just wrote a comment on the wall of shame thread where I mentioned that "I just don't like being lied to. In fact, I despise it. If this were a Porsche 918 or even an NFGT, I would obviously understand the ADM and would even pay it if the market required so. On those types of cars, there really is limited supply and the ADM is supported by a genuine market.

With the Raptor, the ADM is based upon a fictional story that Ford dealers are pitching you. They want you to believe that these are limited production, that there are no more allocations, that there will be no 2018's, etc. It's all false, and it's intended to artificially inflate the market. If you think it is fair for dealers to disseminate misinformation, then this must be your first bbq."
