Gen doesn't matter for your argument. Bedliner does not devalue the pickup. It's a markup at dealer, in the aftermarket, and buying used. If the entire vehicle is covered in line-x then yes there may be considerable damage, but it could just as easily have been hail dings and the owner opted for the one time permanent solution. In the bed of the truck you should be more suspicious of it doesn't have dents, dings, and scratches on a paint only bed.

Ok, whatever you say. And it's a discussion not an argument, at least with me. Take it however you want. There it is, you said it; covering up hail dings. With you info, looks as though then my truck is very suspicious, since it has no dings, dents, or scratches in the bed with the original paint.
Regardless of what you say, I'm referring to the Gen 1 since that is what the OP has. And since you have a Gen 2, how would you know what the value with it or with out it is anyway. Call it what you want (markup) what the dealer does with it, but it's a dealer add-on, something they will likely push because it's a money maker for them, like other dealer sale items like undercoating, etc. After 30 years in the car selling business, I can say the stuff does affect value, and it's not upward.
You can have the last word.

Your argument makes no sense and isn't grounded in any type of logic. Take 100 potential truck buyers and 95 will prefer a bed liner, and the ones who don't aren't prevented from doing other bed mods like a rug or cap. Show me a truck owner who prefers a painted metal bed.
Also, go plug your trucks details into Kelly Blue Book, check the options box for spray in bed liner and report back on what it does to the value...
