I went with both for exactly that reason. I specifically

I asked about the shocks and they showed me the language and said it did.

Some people may not like it but the plan covers oil changes and the major mileage milestone services and for the price I paid, it was well worth it for the seven years I got.

There is a Ford dealer in Greenfield MA that sells the extended Ford policies very reasonably. I have the guys name at my other place and will post the info tomorrow. It will save the majority on here hundreds. The prices go up September or October. I got an estimate for the 7 year 100k 100.00 deductible premium care for 1750.00. My truck had 2k miles on it and was less then a year old. If you wait until after the first year or 12k miles add 100.00.

I am going to look into seeing if buying the warranty in the US is an option, might make it half the price or so.

Correct me if I am wrong but lets say you get a 7 year 100,000 warranty. You are covered for 3 yrs 36,000. Thats turns out to be a 4 year 64,000 warranty.

I have a Roush Exhaust, CAI a RPG stage 3 and several other upgrades and my warranty is still intact for the complete seven years. The only things they will not cover obviously are the parts that are not theirs. Before every major modification I go in and personally speak with the service manager of the dealership that I bought it from they have my back as long as I get their approval on the mods

My wife works at a credit union and I can get warranty and gap insurance at almost half of what they want at the dealer.

You can wait until the day before your 3/36 expires before you purchase. Reasons why you might not are; After one year or 12k miles,a 100.00 surcharge applies if you buy the contract. That surcharge as well as the contract cost is subject to an increase annually. (Sept. or Oct. of every year)

When you purchase it,it trumps your factory warranty. So from the contract purchase date,it becomes your,"In service" date for your warranty.

I never buy an extended warranty on anything. You have a better chance of getting divorced than saving money buying the extended warranty on a new vehicle purchase.

There are articles out there with some actual data showing the percentages (also skewed in favor of low reliability cars) of people who came out ahead.

You should check that out if interested.

IMO, don't be a sucker.

You should limit your calling names and stick to your opinions. Especially on these trucks with all the exclusive electronics. Two trips to the dealer and your warranty is paid for. Possibly one. It's called peace of mind at a price. If you have a new vehicle that has numerous issues within the first year or two, your,"percentage" skew would be in your favor of purchasing the warranty. Let us know if yours breaks and you have to foot the bill. (I doubt you'll have the stones) These are exactly the kind of vehicle you purchase a warranty for. While not considered low reliability. Unless your going to mod heavily and run it off road hard.
