How much should I pay for these services:

The dealer is charging $2260 for Extended warranty, $600 for maintenance and $895 for Gap insurance.

Sounds high for Gap,

and there are MANY levels of years and miles,
for Fords ESP PremuimCare Plans, so costs will be all over the place???

email me for ESP Brochure's [email protected]

Is this insurance policy really offer piece of mind, or even when out of the factory warranty, do I need to refer to the contact ever time I want to add an after market mod?

I know this is different, or maybe not, but it reminds me of the warranty at a best buy when I buy some electronic?

$1500 for true piece of mind no matter where you are is worth it.

That's high for both. With the warranty, there is a lot of wiggle room, so negotiate that down. Are you financing at ford or a credit union? If a private bank or CU check with them. My CU has better gap ( more coverage and 1k additional money towards new car ) and it was only 265$ from them.

Extended Warranty Opinions

Well, I am trying to decide whether or not I will get the extended warranty once my Raptor arrives (if the delays ever end). Just looking on opinions on whether or not its worth it. All it takes is one major issue for the policy to pay for itself, but how common are these issues, and if its going to happen would it just be covered under the initial warranty....

Just looking to get everyones opinion on the matter to help make up my mind.

Cheers,

I wrapped the extended warranty into my purchase package. I've had a front axle replaced and the truck is currently in the shop right now with a transmission issue. I foresee being pleased I purchased the extra warranty. I've had my 2012 since Feb.

I'm also a little bitter right now, so take that with a grain of salt... :emotions122:

Yeah I am trying to make my decisions so its wrapped into the financing as well. I plan on doing some mods, but nothing too extensive for a while. The peace of mind would be nice, although I hope I don't need to use it. Did you go with the premium 7 year?

You can purchase the extended warranty from Ford up until the original one runs out. Is that correct?

Yeah but then you have to pay out of pocket vs just wrapping it into financing. Here in Canada the warranties cost a fair bit more too.

I forget the fancy name, but yes, it was 7 years. I think I did the lower mileage option since my commute is only five miles and I don't put that many miles on the truck.
