I got it. I also had it with my 2004 Explorer. It started to make a ticking noise at 18,000 miles. The cylinders were out of round. They immediately replaced the motor and bent over backwards to get me another Explorer to drive. I think when they know you will be coming back for 75,000 miles not 36,000 miles they tend to take better care of you.

I haven't used it yet...tried to with the shocks but they aren't covered.

I can fix whatever problem you have with your shocks. We are only a few miles apart. Let me know.

Oh Yeah, I bought the warranty mainly for all the electrical shit on this truck and hopefully I will never need it for the engine or trans. I have the feeling that the dealer is going to say abuse on anything under warranty! My truck is spotless and my shock guards are barely hanging on by a thread and they said it was abuse. It had 3,500 miles on it when I showed it to them.

So explain a little more on the no coverage on the shocks. I saw a video where mr. Raptor SVT designer said the shocks are good for 100,0000 miles?
They should be good through 50K right? They have been on some of my other rides like a Acura Legand Coupe I had in the 90's.

Seals were blown , no biggie. Ford won't cover them with the extended warranty. They did offer me 50% of their cost + labor.

I've been reading what you are up to and I'm interested! I have a set of rears in my garage that I was going to send to Fox to have serviced just for backup...I tend to be rough on my stuff:crazy:
Maybe I could have you work your magic?

I blew the front out at 35,000 and had them replaced. The rears were somewhere around 45,000.

Yeah, I would like to see what yours look like with 45,000 miles and I should be going to FOX sometime either this week or next and I could get whatever - if we don't have it. I do have two extra sets of shocks. Are yours off the truck? Can I have them for a few days? Also, do you still have your front shock that you said were blown? I would like to see those as well, I'll PM you my info...

That was my rationale also....and I plan on keeping the truck for as long as she'll run. Bought mine online from

Ford ESP: Ford Extended Service Plans at highly discounted prices. Lowest Price Guarantee!

....don't think I was aware at the time that Randy also offered to do the warranties (but pricing turned out to be quite competitive).

What she said. When shops know they will have you as repeat customer they do tend to go out of there way more for you. I've been told before this person is good customer do everything you can to get it covered whiles others it seems like oh well. Not saying its roght but how it works.

I can't speak for Raptor Girl, but IMO connections and sex appeal only get ya so far... A girl's gotta have the smarts to know how to get what she wants! I think you know I have a close connection to a certain dealer but that does me no good 99% of the time...although I did get a deal on my extended warranty in exchange for some marketing. Heck, I didn't even buy my truck from him because my powers of persuasion worked much better on my local dealer! The local warranty ***** ****** me off but the sales manager has always come through for me. :)

I did opt for the 7 year/125,000 mile premium warranty because I'm keeping this truck a good, long time!
