The Whipple 2.9 Raptor kit- getting ready to be installed at Whipple :waytogo:

Sorry but after all these years fiddling with Lightnings and Harley trucks, that 2.9 just looks ooooooooooglayyyyy with the jack shaft and front inlet lol. Looks like a backwards s/c to me haha. Wonder why they went that route on this setup.

Two more weeks! ;)

lol you a former Lightning owner? Two more weeks LOL :ROFLJest:

Lightning guy here. A front entry S/C is the most efficent setup. The stock L top entry Eaton loses displacement do to the opening over the rotors. The rear entry Whipple & Kenny Bell's have a sharp bend to make it in the rear entry. Straight through the front is the preffered. Must be firewall interference issues so they had to reverse the blower like they do for Chevy application.

I am guessing that is a prototype intake. I see the entire bottom is machined rather than cast.

Yeah, they are not much to look at, but the hood will be down along with the pedal most of the time. If this kit proves to be a good kit and the motors hold up I will be interested in one down the road.

A bit surprised that JDM is the first to get theirs hands on a 2.9 kit. Sure that wasn't a 5.4L with a whipple?

It is a 5.4. That's an old old old video back when JDM first released their blower kit and install services. Someone reposted it

Looks like my 40" Rigid behind the grill will need to come off to make room for the heat exchanger.

The stock 42lb/hr Lightning injector were good to about 500whp. This kit has 63lb/hr which will support much more. Some very good potential.
