go pick up the June issue of Motor Trend...there is nothing 'family' about the SuperCrew. I'm stoked hopefully it will be around for the 2012 model year....may be time for a 'family' car by then?? At least that can be my justification :)

To each their own, but I hate the idea. An SVT vehicle should be just that: a SPECIAL vehicle. I have no doubt they will sell some, but to me, it makes the Raptor a little "less special." I didn't like the shorter box at first, but I came to understand about the shorter wheelbase/off-road capabilities and now love the look. May as well make a Raptor station wagon or mini-van now. I would have rather seen a Ranger version of the Raptor with a big V-6... Just my opinion, I compare it to my love of a two-door car VS a 4-door: the two-door is the cool car, the 4 door is the family car.

X2!! I think it's:bs:

Quad cabs are for guys that are just trying to please their wives so that they can have permission to buy one! LOL

You're posting that pic/text again, in a thread about Ford making the four-door Raptor? What does the engine have to do with the 4 full-size doors?

its simple really, for Ford all they had to do is extend the frame and drop the quad in between. I had an FX4 Crew and LOVED it... it was an 07. I wanted to buy a new truck in 09 and looked at the same FX4, however they lengthened the F150 truck 6 inches and to me, that ride sucked in comparison. The back seat was like a bus and it drove like a boat. No disrespect to anyone who owns one, but for me you are giving up more than off road ride, you are giving up on road ride. It is a HUGE truck to maneuver. If I recall, the crew will be almost a foot longer! No garage keeper, and even with a wider wheel base, it will rock like a boat. I think there is a market, but to be honest, who really needs "ALL THAT ROOM" behind the front seat? Kids or families will be fine with cab, unless you have some huge kids LOL... oh well to each his own.... they sure sell a lot of regular crews!

I don't know Dan... maybe because that's the power-plant for the Super Crew? And I am truly sorry if it upsets you... but it is also the engine that the Raptor was designed around... whether you choose to accept that fact or not. I suppose I posted that picture "Again" because I was used to having to defend myself against people who get unreasonably upset... like frothing at the mouth upset... about me first stating and then defending my position with the facts.

Here's a fact... I don't give a damn what anyone thinks about the Boss 6.2L engine. I got one for 2,250 bucks and I think it was a hell of a deal. And I KNOW it was the motor that the Raptor was designed around. It is a very exciting piece of technology, and I am guilty of being and showing my excitement, thinking you guys would share it. NOT because "I got one and you don't" ... but because we are all motor-heads at heart. At least I am.

I don't usually get upset about differences of opinion... I just state what I believe to be the facts and let them stand on their own merit. I have very rarely had people fly in the face of undisputed facts because of... lets just say anyone who reads this can insert their own judgement here.

I have modified my post to remove the offensive facts so they won't upset anyone. Now let's move on... I WILL NOT comment on this subject further. I am not upset... just a bit embarrassed to be a part of such a childish tiff.

I am sort of shocked about the amount of banter between the 5.4 and 6.2 as well. The guys with the 5.4 have had the luxury of driving their trucks for MONTHS longer than the 6.2 and that counts for something, or a lot. Just like the guys who buy first, at MSRP or way over, they do not care, as they are getting their trucks BEFORE the rest, or among the first. If I had a decision to make, me personally, I would have and did wait for the 6.2 not for bragging rights, or because I have money to spend, but because of the hype of a new motor, and one that the truck was designed around. Does that make the 5.4 any less of an option? NO, just an option. I just sold an 09 Sport Trac, and it came in two motors, the 4.0-6 and the 4.6-8. I would have LOVED the 8, but based on the options I wanted, I had to go with the 6. Did it make a huge difference in power, or resale, not really. It was an option that I had to weigh out, and I did. It did NOT change the fact that I owned the SAME truck regardless. I owned an 08 GT500, with a base of 500 HP (ok so it really was closer to 520) but the next year, and every year since, the HP increased to well over a market 550 (closer to 575). Did I go trade it in for more HP? Nope, same car more to less.

Bottom line, what I am trying to say, regardless of the 5.4 (tried and true motor) or the 6.2 (new and who knows) you STILL HAVE A RAPTOR! I really do not think the motor matters that much in the grand scale of things... like everything in life, options are great, and what is good for one may not be for another, but its all good to someone. Enjoy your Raptors, and stop worrying about the motor... like most of us will ever push the limits or either! LOL... my .02
