Just got word that the vacuum system was in fact bad (they didn't specify if it was the tubes). This will be covered under warranty.

They assured me that it was impossible for there to be any damage to the hubs, diffs, or axles. Does that sound legitimate?

Thanks!!

Ummm I wouldn't say impossible... Our 4x4 system just generally sucks (lol vacuum metaphor). Had to use the "when in doubt throttle out" motto on the last run do to the 4x4's lack of proper function the day before the event.

Are you guys finding that it is the tubes, or whatever creates the vacuum that goes out?

That's frustrating, Wilson. Have you gone back to the dealership so they can help? What's the total mileage on your truck now?

If the vacuum is not working properly, then the IWE will partially engage when you're not expecting it to. It can wear the parts. Keep an eye on it and test it in some deep snow. Be sure to engage the four wheel drive and wait a few seconds before hitting the gas. If it slips, you'll know it and will need to have the IWEs replaced.

Got the truck back last night. Warranty covered the replacement of 2x 7L1Z*3C247*A Actuator Assembly.

Dry roads, so I will have to find a place to bomb around or wait for snow to try it out. Crystal and the regional manager were very helpful and quick to make sure things were taken care of.

Great group we have here. I appreciate all the help and feedback.

@FordService don't you think we should be able to test it on lose gravel. If not what do we have certainly not a ford! Not one I grew up with anyhow. I use 4x4 chasing cattle certainly is not slipery snow I have not used this truck for that but my point is we need to be able to use it. Think baja inspired that is sand rock I put mine in 4x4 befor I get stuck.
