I will tell them the above, thanks! I also will bring my warranty book, where I found the paragraphs that Hazzard posted.

This should all be covered.

Thank you all, I will update next week with what happens.

I've put mine in a few times to check out the camera and to get up a couple driveways it made the same noise all my fords do when engaging this one likes to say something like pull forward to engage or something.. I've got her all loaded up and will be taking the 3 boys through the trails to get to grandmas house for thanksgiving. Should be fun my 2yo loves the thing. We haven't been to the woods since my wife passed in March. I'll pay more attn to the sound tomorrow, I've got 600-ish miles on it so far.

Condolences for your wife.

The initial clunk when you engage the 4x4 is not an issue, it's the continued clunk during driving that is scary. listen for it when you are accelerating or turning when in 4x4. you will notice it if it's doing it. if your truck is brand new, it probably wont have an issue.

It seems there are a few DIY upgrades out there (Copper and Silicone tubing) Might be good for some future upgrades. Right now I'm afraid of damage caused to the hubs from the popping.

What have other seen when getting this repair done? Is there damage resulting from this? It definitely can't be good for the driveline.

Thanks,

Yeah I didn't have any noises not really even when engaging. I hope you get it figured out :(

I had this issue twice on my 4000 km truck, both times I engaged 4x4 on the move when it happened, so I decided to try engaging it from a complete stop, it didnt pop and disengage ever again (yet) and I got a heavy right foot in the sand. Few tips to avoid the "clunk" to come up:

1- Always engage 4x4hi from a complete stop and give it about 7 to 10 sec to completely engage (engaging on the move is a Raptor feature Im aware of that, but its not worth risking the system due to the cheap IWE system we have)
2- Make sure the steering wheel is straight "while" the engagement is in process.

Im in no way a professional mechanic or hardcore offroader, just a dude with a Raptor stating what fixed his problems.

Let’s get you out of the popping/ clunking club, oplersx. I suggest booking an appointment with your local dealer. To locate the nearest, use this link: Ford Find a Dealer - Ford Cars, SUVs, Trucks & Crossovers | Ford.ca Also, PM me your VIN, full name, daytime phone, and preferred dealer; I’ll loop in your regional customer service manager.

Thank you Kwasi. We have a planned trip into the mountain next week, that will give plenty of time/route to test it. Let's see what happens.
