I can bet most dealers have never done it. I’m almost thinking this procedure was never thought of for recalibrating the life valve shocks after adding springs.

So you felt a difference after having this done with new springs? Quite noticeable? It’s looking like truck is way out of sync without reprogramming.

difference was night and day. Before the reset truck felt almost airborne over even small bumps on the highway. My guess is the increased ride height upfront is confusing the crap out of the live valve sensors.

This question was posted on the Forscan forum:

"I see you have added the calibration procedure for older fords

+ Service function VDM "Ride Height Calibration" and Test functions VDM "Accurate Trim Test", "Pneumatic Test" for the following models with pneumatic suspension:
Expedition 5.4L 3V 2005-2006 model years
Lincoln Navigator 5.4L 3V 2005-2006 model years

Do you have an ETA to add this for the 2019 Ford Raptor profile?"

I got my Ride Height Calibration done on Friday morning. $75 for a half hour of labor.

I talked to the tech and he only knew it had to be done after any changes. Couldn't give me a real good explanation of anything.

I noticed on the drive home that any bumps were less harsh, if that makes sense. Right after I swapped the coils/springs, I noticed that it handled better but the little/big bumps were sharp and a bit harsh.

Thanks for the feedback. This is certainly a must do for live valve and was overlooked.

Makes sense why the harshness is there, if valving is always firmed up. And the truck thinks it’s up and has to come down.

So is that the official procedure to ask for at the dealer? I need a Ride Height Calibration as I changed springs? I bet at some dealers, you may end up throwing them into a loop.
