Only for 36k miles. My warning is to invest in a high quality aftermarket warranty if you plan to keep forever. This engine has common failures that are not cheap fixes. These same common failures were not addressed in the revised 3.5

Again, this is a new 3.5 from the ground up and shares not much at all with the regular duty 3.5. For you to forecast such crap is all speculation.

I agree that the 2019 will see a refresh, but odds are that it will only be to match the 2018 F150 exterior styling cues. I don't see a suspension change happening (the Gen1 suspension was unchanged for its entire 4yr run) since there is a significant amount of engineering involved in that. Same for the engine. The 3.5HO will most likely be the engine in the Raptor for a while. This is a brand new engine, and they aren't going to toss it aside after just 2 yrs. They also aren't going to do much tweaking on it after just two years. About the only changes for 2019 will be exterior styling, trim options and maybe color choice. I could be wrong here (highly doubt it) but history (and business logic) has shown Ford will only make minor tweaks for any vehicle until it has run for 4yrs.

True, but when it gets more power it needs more (better) suspension. It's on the verge now of running out of truck before motor off road, not the on ramp. It has some pretty good axle windup (chatter) in loose stuff unless there is massive wheel spin. The leaf spring has been maxed out. We see the 3.5 H.O. is capable of 600+ hp so there is no need to toss it aside. Any decent increase in power would require a chassis redo. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had a few holy crap moments at less then 50 mph in some rough stuff rippin the gears and the ass end decides it wants to go somewhere else.

Inherent design issues were carried over. Give it a little while... you will see.

yeah, but what do you do to curb axle windup on a leaf sprung, live axle off roader that doesn’t compromise the ride?

coil over and trailing arms. lowest cost and still fit under the box.

Jayzus.

Please put up some --first hand-- source material here that can be verified and that support your assertions. Not 2nd hand, not rumor, not conjecture, not internet ramblings. Design docs, spec sheets from the manufacturer or contracted builder, test sheets with results or other source verified actual proof.

Otherwise, Fer the love o’ Christ please stop the rumor mongering.
In addition, you’ve made your point, at least 2 - 3 dozen times now. We get it.

This exactly. Ford needs to recoup the investment in this engine.

How many TTV8 dreamer threads are really necessary? Give it a rest, please.

Inherent design issues?... I call BS again. You have no idea and I have more articles stating this engine ne is new from the ground up than you speculative fake news.

Quit spreading crap man. The sky isn't falling.

Specifically the intercooler design and the cam phaser oil paths. Both were not addressed in this engine design

What's the current incentive to change from a new engine? To increase sales? They already will sell all they can make.

From a practical standpoint they can make just as much power the TTV6 as they can with a TTV8.

I just don't see a ROI for it. Now if a real competitor emerges with a healthy V8, maybe then we will see it, but no one has yet.

Personally I would like a BubbaRaptor with the 5.0 and without all the frufru stuff. I think that would be a lot of fun and more affordable to the Average Joe.
