Thanks for the helpful info! Like you mentioned I’ll probably stick to finding stock lower and upper control arms(unless I find a nice set of uppers used) and go with the Gen 2 shocks with corrected upper buckets from Camburg. Thanks again!
Not sure ADD is still making the kits? Or at least advertising them. Not sure if the kit was good or bad but they disappeared pretty quick. For a daily I would stay away from heims. If you were buying an off the shelf kit I'd go with Dirt Kings rubber bushing setup. It's basically Raptor width and travel numbers but you don't have to mess with coil buckets or run one oem shock vs another and you get 12" in the front. It's also setup for a bypass depending on what you want to do. Personally, and from the sounds of what you're trying to do, I'd go with OEM parts and use GEN1 shocks for a bolt and go situation or go with the KHC buckets GEN2 shocks.

Budget build and Raptor don't go in the same sentence.

Good luck and keep posting pictures of progress.
Kind of a oxymoron..but we’re trying to not spend crazy money…so far the stock suspension pieces haven’t seemed to be difficult to source or priced crazy..trying to decide what to do for front fenders..I like the idea of OEM Raptor but it may end up easier going with fiberglass.

I have coming up in a couple of days my 17 Raptor for FRF members and to the OP. I’ve just purchased a new Raptor R that I’ve been waiting forever.
Anyway I’m a true Ford nut. My driveway and garage 9 Ford go fast vehicles.

My 17 all decked out was built with one principal EFFICIENCY. It cost about high 50’s closer to 60. Putting 610plus to the ground. Total sleeper until it just walks away with your head pinned to the head rest. All professionally done, 5 tunes, full flex fuel on two or three meaning from zero e to e85 and anywhere in between.
It has 18800 miles. 5 pages of go fast parts and supporting parts.

And yes I am a supporting member. Eric has been trying to figure out why it wouldn’t take payment and finally did. Now it just needs to show up top so my baby makers don’t get turned into dust.
I’m selling because of poor health and I can’t drive 3 Raptors. Getting too old and in too much pain daily to deal with it.
I’m excited for a member to get my Raptor. Oh and yes it sounds awesome. I will also put a clip in too.

The reason I bring up my situation to the OP is that there are available actual Raptors out there that may work for you. It would be a win win for you. I get wanting the 5.0 8 cylinder but in the end the energy and parts to do this will escalate beyond what you can stomach and you still won’t have a Raptor. Before I started I did a year of research and in the end at least I learned how good the 3.5’s are if done right will last no different than stock if not totally abused and not implode. 610-620 whp with 562 torque curve. This all done without raising rpm 6100, losing any Ford motor safety features etc. it’s all about efficiency. I’ll leave you with this: I raced my son I was in the RR and he was in the gen 2 monster. The gen 2 just walked away from the R. We switched and the same outcome. I want to be careful as I need to put all of this in the for sale area. Feel free to dm me or email if appropriate.
