I gotta say that the cheap and easy way is not the direction you're heading with your build already, which would be the direction you would be heading it towards if you put an ls motor in, just get a built aluminum or titanium block based off the boss 6.2l, bored and stroked to 7.0l, it is a better design than the ls motors, just no one has taken it even near it's potential yet, remove the 4x4 system, but I'm not going to say removing the bed is a good idea, it's a pickup truck, people add weight to the rear end of drag trucks for a reason, get it weighed with scales at each wheel and remove and add stuff until you get a balanced weight distribution both front to rear and side to side, doing the weighing with you in the driver seat or something that could properly represent you would be the best way to do it

I was saying that getting an ls7 would be the cheap way of doing it, going with either an aluminum block or titanium block based off the boss 6.2 would be the slightly better and much more expensive way

Things to also look into that might help

Ditch stock master/brake booster for a Wilwood or CNC set up(40-50 lbs)
Ditch stock heater/AC unit and replace it with a Vintage air((40-50 lbs)
Lose the stock dash and replace it with a Fiberwerx Carbon Fiber dash(no idea on weight difference)
Fully Cage the truck(bumper to bumper) using 1.5" .095 Chromoly, cut out all sheet metal in the cab and have a full interior custom built for comfort(see pics below)

Caging the truck will also help with any flex you're getting when taking off due to the high horsepower your putting to the wheels. If done correctly you could drop as much as 500 lbs while getting chassis rigidity

The discussion about the LS7 pr Titanium block is kind of irreverent given that the engine was the first thing built. It's done and is not going to change. Tons of power and I;m perfectly happy with it. Could it be lighter? Yes but throwing $100k out the window to save a few pounds would be ridiculous given that weight can still be shaved off in so many other areas.

A.I.I., your suggestions have been genius and given me a lot of great directions to go in. Thanks so much. Keep it coming ;-)

Instead of buying useless carbon fiber parts you might want to save your money for a lawyer if/when your Hennessey Performance Veloci"RAPTOR" 800 catches fire and burns to the ground.

Dan that is hilarious

The engine is a major place to save weight, and that could be done without giving up the modifications you already have put into it, going with an aluminum or titanium engine block built to the specifications of a standard 6.2 would just require swapping all the other engine components over to the new block, a sleeved aluminum block would be the best option for maximum weight savings

I definitely think that if you changed up the front/rear bumpers and the headache rack to lighter tube construction, it would save TONS of weight. I'm not sure how heavy those iron bull bumpers are but I know they are very very heavy Ha Ha. That headache rack looks pretty beefy too. Pick up a WSI nighthawk rack and slap a few light bars on it!

Irreverent? are you for real!
What is rediculous is that you gave Hennessy $100,000.00
