If you are going all out, then go all out. Ditch the 6.2 boat anchor and put in an LS7 with a nasty H/C/I package = ~ 700hp and 200lbs lighter than a supercharged 6.2. It will also make the truck handle MUCH better by getting all that weight off the nose.

Grab a composite bed off a Tundra and slap on some boatec bedsides. Making it attach to the frame shouldn't be that big of a deal.

Ditch all non-essential electronic gadgets and associated wiring = probably another 200lbs right there

If you have a sunroof, cut it out and weld in a roof panel = 50+ lbs

Ditch all the anti-vibration body mounts = 50-100lbs

Ditch the sound deadening = 25-50lbs

Seats = 50-100lbs

Do you have a chase vehicle? If so, ditch the spare, the jack and the roadside kit = 200lbs

As posted above, ditch the front diff, axles, driveshaft and t-case = at least 500lbs

Get rid of the current Gen mirrors and install a set from last gen - no weight savings but are a tad more aerodynamic

Run a bedcover - I'd make one out of CF and bolt it in.

I agree sell that cast iron boat anker and get the ls7 and save a lot of weight of the front.
The seats are very heavy with the motors and crap that is not needed in a race truck.

2 wheel drive would cut a lot of weight. You could stroke that engine out to 6.6 cams and head work. Sheet metal intake. The possibilities are endless you could add another 400+hp. These things are not crazy expensive.

Archar I am not flaming you but why the Raptor for this type of event? I can think of a few other vehicles to run these events that might be better, even a few American cars for the money you are spending? We have another member here who has done this kind of event he may be of some help I think his name is squatting dog.

I know you are trying to peel weight, do have a roll cage? I would!

Tires what are running that has a speed rating high enough?

As stated by wiz1500 work on making it more aerodynamic.

Some great ideas about losing weight were brought up to consider I say make it a Frankenstein truck new LS engine and go all out striping out unnessasary stuff who cares about the look as long as it is fast!

The truth is these trucks will never compare well with the sports cars and sedans that typically run luxury rallies. You will have fun but they are a compromise.

If I was running in the events mentioned here and my life depended on winning, a truck would be my last choice. I would like for my raptor to be faster but one quickly reaches a point of diminishing returns of a vehicle that pushes so much air, weights so much, and was designed to do something opposite of drag racing. Low wedge shape, light weight, and big horsepower thats the ticket..

Having said that I would like to follow the thread because some bits of kit might be useable for me ,and it is fun to watch people hear that it can not be done double down and make it happen. So lets see some pics of the raptor so we can see the before and after.

I gotta say that the cheap and easy way is not the direction you're heading with your build already, which would be the direction you would be heading it towards if you put an ls motor in, just get a built aluminum or titanium block based off the boss 6.2l, bored and stroked to 7.0l, it is a better design than the ls motors, just no one has taken it even near it's potential yet, remove the 4x4 system, but I'm not going to say removing the bed is a good idea, it's a pickup truck, people add weight to the rear end of drag trucks for a reason, get it weighed with scales at each wheel and remove and add stuff until you get a balanced weight distribution both front to rear and side to side, doing the weighing with you in the driver seat or something that could properly represent you would be the best way to do it

This may give you an idea of some of the cars I'm running against. This was day one of last years rally leaving the hotel in San Francisco. I'm near the end of the video.

Then one of four runs at Texas Motor Speedway

And several runs after.

I love the idea of the fake truck bed and replacing the front fenders as well. Just need to find someone who can build them the right way to they hold up over time.

Your truck looks awesome, for what your purposes are, I would give my full support to lowering your truck, the problem is when people (not gonna mention who but we all know who they are) lower their trucks for the sole purpose of appearance and don't make any other efforts to improve performance
