Hmmm Should I talk about what a little bird told me???????????

Of course you should wiz.

Instead of flaming another member off how about we give him useful information like we would do to most everyone else. I agree that carbon fiber replacement parts are probably not the way to go. There was a discussion before about how shaving weight off our trucks for speed doesn't matter as much as it would for a small sports car or something similar. It's not a drag truck. It's an offroad behemoth. There isn't a great track record around here with Hennessey. By my count we have at least 5 that have caught on fire and literally burnt to the ground.

Maybe Wiz has some insider tidbits that may help you. If not, I don't expect much info to come for what you're looking for. Hopefully not everyone bashes your choices and tries to steer you in the right direction.

Yeah I think u are right about the injectors. Although I wonder if it was the injectors or the install of the injectors...

Any weight you can take off is a good thing even on a big fat ass truck. Now the difference between the stock fenders, hood and making them out of carbon fiber may not be that much if it is a direct copy. If they were made paper thin like a race car there might be a decent reduction but then these parts would not last very long in road use.

yes what you just said. carbon fiber is brittle and the raptor flexes a lot offroad . when carbon fiber fails it fails catastrophically,a compete blow out. i build custom kayaks , carbon fiber is used in combination with kelvar and fiberglass so when you hit a rock it does not puncture easily. Lets said you replace the hood ,fenders and bed sides the weight saving would be so minimal compared to money spend . the main reason i use graphite is to add stiffness.

one could apply a mold release to the factory oem parts and vacuum bag the graphite with a high grade epoxy or do a hand layup. would look very cool but would be very expensive. darn the factory stuff seems so thin already my inclination would be to add fiber to the existing bits and pieces. I thinking if you run half a tank of gas instead of full you save more weight and about 20 grand.Really this is why there are not after market part available in graphite. The cloth is 40 dollars a square yard and you would need several layers. If you have money to burn the aircraft industry is set up to do this and could custom build what ever you want.

Lol damn I've been waiting to use this.

The fairings on my rc8r are all cf I think I saved about a pound and spent $3,000. Weight savings works as a percentage of the whole. My bike weighs about 380 that one pound would be like 16 on the truck I'm thinking that's close to what you would save maybe a little more. in either case its not gonna make a difference.
Lighter wheels and tires would be a good idea. Or just up the boost. Sounds like you have the money to build what ever you want. You could build a 1200hp setup, you already have the power adder its just supporting mods from here.
