Cam Phaser/Engine Failure Reports

Not sure if mentioned but ford has updated cylinder head cores. They allow the VCT solenoids to sit in the mega cam cap slightly differently as well as photos of the new cam phasers vs old. We will be offering new cam caps however one would need to send their heads in for an align hone, and it is still unclear how much of a long term effect this will have

Phasers like a month ago. Heads we had 24 sets come in, 1/2 of them came with the old cam cap design just in the last couple weeks

Lol I intentionally just bought a 2020, which was also built during 2020, in case Ford had updated any more parts. My truck was built closer to the start of the year though, so it is unlikely that I have the new parts. Now I wish I would have never asked you such a question

First was Ca, then CB. Then CC, now CD, with the change to the main cam cap which houses the vct solenoids

My late 2018 production date had the noise for a few months. all 4 were replaced @ 19,000 miles. they changed oil and filter too. Also got a right front axle shaft (torn boot) was really hoping to never do anything but maintenance on this truck. had two prior 3.5 ecoboosts, no noises no problems.

BTW way this was about 2 weeks ago, got 2 different part numbers "cam" ending with CD.

well with this whole COVID-19 thing going on. I won’t be able to take it into Ford anytime soon.

heck ya avalanche is the best color, I can’t give up my 17’ because of it...I only have 18k I’m worried so I just bought Ford protect 8/75k (I won’t hit 75k in 8 yrs)

I'm sorry for a noob / stupid question, but you think the 2020 Raptor would be camphaser free? I'm curious because i'm in a market for 2020 and wondering about it as well. Thanks
