I bought my Raptor out of state. I made sure it has the CA emissions sticker under the hood. I had to help my out of state dealer understand the process. I went to DMV after I followed the info in the threads I provided to you (see SOAKINRED's info and others') - I had the truck smogged and weighed at a certified scale and had the truck confirmed (AAA could have done it but I had it done at DMV at no charge). I got it registered here in CA.

Read and follow the info in those threads!

Ya I read both those threads all the way through. Sounds like you went through a lot just didn't know the outcome. I appreciate your help as someone who has gone through it.

Seems like a lot of effort between that and having the truck shipped just call around like I said and find a dealer willing to sell at MSRP.

I went through some crap but only because of the DMV's incompetence. But that can happen any/every time you go to the CA DMV.

It's easy to get done once you have read the threads and followed what others have done to register in CA.

I bought my Raptor off a lot in Arkansas. No CA emission option obviously. When you find the vehicle you want have the dealer send you a pic of the emissions sticker. It just has to have what you see below. When you go to DMV all they look for is this. They don't ask to see the window sticker or some list of options from the manufacturer. When you get there they'll have you pop the hood they'll look for this and then that's it, you're good to go.

Edit: Before going to DMV make sure to get a smog check and an official weight from a moving company.

Yes as far as I know. I haven't seen anyone post a picture of one without.

Have the dealer send you pic before purchase just for peace of mind.

I see why you went with an out of state Raptor. I called your dealership in Palm Springs whom had 5 Raptors sitting on the lot, they told me $20K over MSRP I literally laughed and the guy then told me they get $20K no problem. I then asked "Why do you have 5 un sold ones sitting on your lot then?" He really did not know what to say next but stuck with his +$20K.

Ha. Yeah, there is actually 2 dealers down here and they both are still asking 20K+ on their 2017s last I checked. Greedy *****.

And some of those are out of state Raptors they bought from other dealers so I doubt they have the ca emission option.
